It was a big storm that day.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Well, I did have my top down once in the snow....by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Oh, our road crews already cleared the roads...it’s my driveway that needs clearing. LOL.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Or at least get some snow tires. LOL.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I read that too...that the wear on the throwout bearing is so inconsequential in today’s cars that it would still outlast the clutch (if you leave the clutch in at a stoplight). I don’t do it often but there are times I do if I know the light will not be too long.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Thanks for the info and one more question: what engine oil did you use for the car to get to 350k miles? Mobil 1 0W-40? Something else?...I have a 997 now, and on another forum I’m on, the folks there swear by all these special oil additives like MoS2, Ceratec, or expensive boutique oils that they claim will extend the life of their engines while I just keep using Mobil products. LOL.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
That’s amazing you got that much life out of the clutch Pedro! I only got 76k out of my Boxster’s clutch until it started to slip although I did have the car parked in a NYC garage for a number of years where I could see the valets hold the car on an up ramp in the garage using the clutch several times while smelling burned clutch. What do you say about holding the clutch in during a stoplighby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Did you only drive on the highway? That’s amazing!!by CarreraLicious - Main Forum

Ok, so I started this thread on another Pcar board and it has some cool pics, so thought it would be fun here too. Not many folks here actually post photos, so I’m hoping to get some more participation from the board I started on. Please post a pic of your car at a gas station. Doesn’t have to be a Porsche, but it would be cool. I’ll start....by CarreraLicious - Main Forum

Congrats to 25 years of the Boxster! I don’t have mine anymore, but remember how fun it was!by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
If you checked the oil level with the dipstick and it’s good, maybe it’s a problem with the oil pressure sending unit?by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
True, but thinking about what a mess the cleanup would be after using that goop even if it works, I think I’ll just use the plug kit instead if I end up with a flat.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I got the tire plug kit after I saw this video from Nick Murray where he tried to use the Porsche goo and it failed miserably. Lol.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I’ve never checked mine. Thanks for the reminder. I keep a plug kit in the car just in case too.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I thought it’s a slightly altered PDK unit made into a manual but still has shift cables linked to the shift knob. Maybe I’m wrong.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
For a manual that negates the need for adjusting or having shift cables that break and leave you stranded. Just shift into the desired gear and computer knows which gear you are trying to select. That would be cool. Smooth shifts, no balking when cold, etc, and perhaps even prevent you from over rev by accident if it knows you are selecting the wrong gear. Wonder why they haven’t made that yetby CarreraLicious - Main Forum

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Thanks, I guess the new knob is slightly larger than the original due to the leather inserts protruding out a bit. After driving with it for a while now, I must say I like it a lot more than the stock knob that is too light. I like the heftier and solid feel of the aluminum one. Also, I will end up installing the handbrake. Have a buddy who has already replaced the handbrake before in his car whoby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
