Thanks G! Yes, this cover snaps right over the original key. I read how some folks drop their key by mistake and then the whole thing flies apart, and figured this might help prevent that if I ever dropped it. Also, since it sits above the original key, less chance of mistakenly pressing the unlock button which sometimes happened when the key was in my pocket. And you’re right...Porsche would hby CarreraLicious - Main Forum

QuotePedro (Odessa, FL) The cylinders are already coated from the factory with friction reducers. You don't need anything other than fresh (Porsche-recommended) oil in your engine. Happy Boxstering, Pedro Thanks Pedro. One less extra thing to add to my maintenance regimen.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Curious what folks think of these oil additives if they have used them. I used to run only M1 0w-40 in my previous 986, and now M1 5W-50 in my 997. Folks on another forum I’m on seem to advocate adding this additive to the engine oil as it supposedly reduces friction. What are your thoughts if you’ve used em. Thanks.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
I have read on various forums where folks have been stranded or had to limp home in a limited set of gears due to their shifter cables snapping, but not at 22k miles, and certainly have never heard of Porsche recommending replacement at that interval. There are a lot of folks recommending to change out the stock shifter and cables to a brand called Numeric racing which is supposedly a really highby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
In general, a regular battery will last 4-5 years. I know many go longer than that (especially if you put it on a maintainer regularly), but I’d start by changing the battery to a new one if you haven’t in over 5 years. I was stranded once on a dead battery so tend to change them out proactively every 4 years just to be safe. There’s probably a date code listed on your current battery, soby CarreraLicious - Main Forum

Today, we will hit 64F. Very nice out still. I still drive my car thru the winters here if the salt is clear from the roads. Been out as low as 18F! Only the snow can stop me, as I get no fun from that kinda driving.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
Glad to see you got out for a nice drive G. Soon there won’t be many top down days left this season in my area either so trying to enjoy as much as possible now.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
So you were mad that you thought you lost a key but really you didn’t cause your wife had it? Er Ok. And then you went on a rant on how this was significant because the Boxster was more rare than other regular cars? Um ok. A replacement key from a Porsche dealer can be up to $500 or even more depending on the dealer but that’s not because the car is rare. Same charge can happen at a Benz dealby CarreraLicious - Main Forum
QuoteJoeU ontheriver in VA If you look at older Ferraris and Aston Martin and Audi R8 you will see all of them with the manual bringing more than the auto, even if the auto is a single or dual clutch box. Time will tell if the Porsche will do same but I guess it will. My 981 is a PDK, but I plan on hanging onto my C7 Z51 Corvette with 7 speed and Aston V8 Vantage with 6 speed. QuoteGuenter in Ontario I wonder how much the PDK version will be - for those who don't want to do their own walking. No PDK option. They will, however, have a Velcro strap version for those who don’t know how to tie shoelaces.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum

I don’t care if it is even fly by wire. As long as it has a shifter and 3 pedals, and makes it feel like I’m driving a manual, it’s good enough for me. I don’t think I’d ever buy a PDK 911.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum

This is a great service you offer. I have a friend who has a 991S that has seen this happen on. I was going to suggest he send the panels to you but then he traded his car for a 991.2 GTS. Probably will see that happen on that car too eventually. Funny thing is I read that the delamination doesn’t seem to happen on the cars with full leather. Wonder why the full leather door panels are not affeby CarreraLicious - Main Forum

QuoteGuenter in Ontario Even without brake dust, the wheels would still get dirty, just like the rest of the car. So it's pretty hard to avoid cleaning the wheels. That’s not so bad. At least it was on the outside of your car. I once was parked in a parking lot of a store and a bird dropped one right on my center console in my Boxster when I had the top down. I was in the car, and wished I had a pellet gun.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum

The aftermarket one will probably work, but I’d just go and get the OEM one. The original one lasted up till now, and you don’t want to do this job again. My 2 cents.by CarreraLicious - Main Forum
