I think we have done that .Present plan is to finish other items, fill it with gas and drive it and see what shows up. Then repeat the calibration procedure. I'll post when we know something. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Yes, fuel level sensor system. We have done all that and get an error message on the PST2 when try to confirm calibration. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
I'm helping my local Porsche body shop on a 2002 996 Turbo. Front end fire in the driveway. Not running at the time. Fire didn't get as far as gas tank but lots of melted wires and plastic. Radiator fan is suspect. Donor crashed Turbo has supplied wire harness and other parts. ABS unit replaced and recoded with my PST2. Tried to reset and re calibrate gas gage per factory manual and get error meby Ed B - Main Forum
I think many of us are hibernating. We just got 13" of heavy wet snow. My plow truck got stuck. Pulled it out with my back hoe and then the back hoe couldn't make it up the driveway. Had to put chains on it in the snow. Have to move more snow today. And we lost power for four hours. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
This s in the '04 GT3, Same switch as the Boxster. The car isn't driven much, It's got 13k miles on it. When I went to start it after a long winter's nap, the key was very hard to turn. Turning the wheel to take the pressure off had no effect. It was not like the steering wheel lock was against the pin. After a several hour drive with a couple of stops and restarts, it is still extremely stiff. Iby Ed B - Main Forum
When the fan speed dropped, the cabin temp definitely went up. Outside temp was in the 90's. Fan speed bar graph didn't change. Cold air still coming from vents but no volume. Your comment on the passenger side temp sensor is interesting. Wife had her iPhone on thanks, a mount on the right vent. We are having rain for a week. I'll test it when we dry out. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
The outside temp sensor reads correctly on the instrument panel. I'll check the cabin sensor. I was using a V1 and a dash cam. Interference? Thanks, Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
We took the 00 Boxster S to the parade. Lots o 90 plus temps. On auto setting, A/C always blew cold, but periodically it seems that the fan would drop to low speed. Reducing the temp four or five degrees would eventually increase fan speed. Setting the temp beck to normal,(auto) worked OK until the cycle repeated in about half a hour. Any ideas? Fan resistor? When the ignition switch fails to operate the starter on your manual transmission Boxster, check your floor mat, It can prevent the clutch pedal from operating the clutch interlock switch. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Most be the season for new toys. During bad weather, I sometimes scan car/truck ads on line. Bad habit. My 2007 F250 diesel PU has needed more than the usual maintenance lately, so I was looking at new/used ones. Local dealer had one with just the right options. Forced myself to look at it. Better seats, quieter, 800 lb-ft of torque. After an hour or two of negotiation we settled on a price. (Thby Ed B - Main Forum
The last of our snow melted yesterday! Hooray! Only six months until winter. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
90+ degrees yesterday, 74 degrees today, 2 inches of snow in Littleton on Tuesday. Welcome to New Hampshire! Ed B .by Ed B - Main Forum
We have had some liquid H2O too, but I still can't get the Boxster out. It's mud season in NH and we still have up to 4 feet of snow in parts of our property. The snow will be gone sometime in May. Had to miss several days of DE due to mud in the driveway. Enjoy a drive for me. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Mark, There is no sign of a fuel problem. Idle is smooth and no backfires or misfires that would indicate a fuel problem. I agree that the ECU sees something it doesn't like and switches to limp mode. There is no sudden loss of electrical power. It does have E-gas throttle body. We did look at some parameters with my PST-2, and all looked good, but this was after a restart. It's hard to limp offby Ed B - Main Forum
Boxster track car. 2002 with a :'99 3.4 996 engine. Engine randomly shuts down to idle while on the track. No response from the throttle. After shut off and restart, it's OK. No codes. Any ideas? Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
There is a path through the firewall over the left rear fender. Remove the trunk liner in that area and you should be able to see it. You will have to remove or fold back the carpet along the left side interior. Google Pelican Parts "Cruse Control Retrofit" and there are some pics. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Great video. Thanks Jeff Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
No. You need a PST 2, PWIS or similar unit. You don't have to disconnect the battery. Just be sure the key is not in the ignition. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Doesn't work on older models. Requires 17 digit VIN. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Mark, I was aware that the MAF isn't listed as a cause of the P1128 code, but several had success changing it, I had replaced the IMS bearing and thought that an exhaust gasket might be leaking, so I replaced them. Didn't fix the problem. I did a smoke test, too, with no intake leaks found. Hope your shop finds the cause. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Had a similar P1128 code, lean at idle. Replaced the MAF sensor. Problem gone 2000 Boxster S with 45000 miles. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
Club Motorsports track in Tamworth NH is now open. NCR-PCA was the first club to have a DE here on Wednesday. It rained all day from light to heavy. Great track. 250 ft of elevation change. I ran my street Michelins. I could stay with most of the other cars in the red group. I'm the silver Boxster S, #12, on the NCR-PCA website photos. While loading the Boxster on the trailer at the end f the daby Ed B - Main Forum
I don't think the gas would cause the codes. I had a similar problem with my '00 S at 40k miles. Replaced the MAF sensor and the problem went away. Ed Bby Ed B - Main Forum
