When this happened to me, I took the battery out for five minutes or so. That seemed to do the trick and it never happened again. --dbby db997S - Main Forum
many judges will do this. If yoiu go in and plead guilty, they drop the speed, which lowers the fine, and may even drop any points that goes along with it. At the time of the ticket, it may also pay to be polite and don't argue (not saying you did). Several years back, I got a ticket going 87 in a 65 in PA (my V-1 never made a sound). While the officer was running my plates, before he approacby db997S - Main Forum
I've done Eurocar and do not like them and will never use them again. I think they are cheaper than Avis and Hertz, but I've gotten bogus charges two times with them, which I didn't find out about until the credit card bill arrived. They can also have some really weird drop off places in cities. One in Naples, Italy, was basically a parking garage. Just some guy watching TV there. That's wheby db997S - Main Forum
Good write up. On the track, PDK is a monster (i mean that as a good thing). I did a HPDE with my local PCA. All I had to do is concentrate on braking and apexes (apexi?). No missed shifts, perfect throttle blips, and as you said, your right foot controlling things. You don't need two feet and a hand to control a car these days. That's gone the way of the hand-crank starters, and chokes. Bby db997S - Main Forum

According to a Yahoo.com article, many celebs have unclaimed funds, including PCNA owing Captain Jack (aka Johnny Depp) $2,159.06. I guess the actor never cashed the check, so PCNA turned it over to the state as unclaimed property.by db997S - Main Forum

Also, when you think of how much more complex things are these days in cars. Everyone wants electonic seats. I think some cars have about 10 or more motors per seat to ensure your tush is very happy. I'm sure the chips/switches for one touch windows are more complex than the old push and hold. Lights have motors, engines, transmissions, fuel systems, suspensions, etc, all have cips, brains anby db997S - Main Forum
I'd do the simple checks first--check the gas and oil caps. I added some oil to my car and was more annal about getting the oil can drawing straight, which left the cap somewhat loose, but thought is was tight. On popped the CEL. Felt like an idiot once the shop told me. The same can happen with the gas cap if not properly secured. The fuel system I believe works on a vaccum, and if air seepby db997S - Main Forum
agree. Yes, the numbers are small, but the Boxster/Cayman sales have been low or trending down for a long time. If you look at overall Porsche sales, they are still strong (up 34%), driven by the Pepper and the Panomara, both of which by any stretch of the imagination are Luxury items. If things weren't better, or outlook improving, people would easily not purchase one of these and go lower maby db997S - Main Forum
Only one major service in six years of ownership? I get annual physicals for my cars, regardless of miles. You also seem to have gotten one of the better cars. I've had cracked CV Joint Boots, bushings that had to be repacked/greased, window regulators go, headlamp washers leak, new battery, etc. That's one of the reasons I dumped my 2002 S for a 2009. agree. Profits are up, sales are up, outlook is up, all of which equates to prices up. I think even with the Pepper, since it is new, you'd still be hard press to find a great deal. I know several people who got cars in and around Christmas. Also, you are looking at SUV-like items during winter. Sort of like looking at convertibles in Spring or Summer. HGTV had this show on called million dollar rooms. This couple spent $300K on a fish tank. Their bar was a tank, but they also wanted one in the kitchen, so they connected the tank in the bar with the one in the kitchen via this overhead system of clear material. Very cool. You would have drooled over it. You can do just about anything if you have the dollars and will power.by db997S - Main Forum
According to today's Globe and Mail, on average, prices will go down $5,200 ($7,200 with basic options). The Turbo S by $16,600, a Panamera S will drop by 10%, and the base Boxster will now start at $54,900. The 911 GT2 RS will see the biggest drop of $17,500 with a base price coming in at $279,000. This new pricing is said to be for transparency over Porsche's so-called "currency credits" itby db997S - Main Forum

No, not for wipers, but I'd suggest getting some RainX while you are at it. I never used it until I got my new car. The dealer put it or some equivalent on all the windows before I picked up my car. It's like wax for your windows. The rain beads up and blows right off and helps the wipers do their thing.by db997S - Main Forum

To some extent, I'm a bit anal, and when I topped off the oil recently, I was trying to get the diagram of the oil can on the cap to be horizontal. Must not have tightened it up all the way, although, I did go in to see if it was tight after the CEL came on and swear it didn't move a lick. Oh, well. Need to get me one of those code readers for my Birthday.by db997S - Main Forum
I didn't get one, but I did see two Spyders at my dealership this morning--one black the other silver. Must say, they look better in photos. I thought the back third of the car just had too much going on. I perfer the simple, eligant lines of the original. The top is way ugly, too. Very messy looking when on the car. It's not tight like the regular rag top. But, to each his own, I guess.by db997S - Main Forum
I believe all updated 911 and Boxster models supposedly have the side mirrors mounted on the doors instead of the A-pillar, at least that's what I recall reading on potential updates to the cars. The Panamera has it's side mirrors mounted on the doors. Looks like a PITA to wax around, if you ask me. Prefer them mounted on the pillar. Every so often you'll see some saber rattling on various Porsche forums looking for people to create a class action suit agains Porsche due to engine failures (renntech, rennlist, 914forum and even think I recall once on PPB. Thanks, I was hoping that solid was better than blinking. It is under warranty, thankfully. I did get that service beep a few months back when the car was due for it's annual physical. Mine just popped on. Haven't noticed any noises, back fires or change in character. It was a complete surprise to have it come on. Local shop doesn't have an opening until later in the week, but will still drop it off in the morning. Maybe it's because I haven't pushed the engine lately and the car is rebelling. I read that nitrogen is better in tires because the molecules are larger then those that make up the components in tires. I'd imagine as the tire heats, it expands, allowing more space for the air to seep through with increased pressure to force the issue (think Playdo and one of those Playdo machines to make things). With the larger nitrogen molecules you get less seepage. I'm not a chemist,by db997S - Main Forum
