why not? better than having a frame and plate, no?by frogster - Main Forum
it only took until 2022 to get this.by frogster - Main Forum

and congrats on having bonilla #2 on-board. i would have loved to put those gauges in my 986.by frogster - Main Forum
no, not *a* porsche but porsche the company itself. well, at least a little part of it. could be fun to buy 1 share and get the paper certificate (if those still exist) and frame it for your office or garage. ah, got it. thanks for the explanation.by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteBoxsterra just crimp them to make them stop rattling. Ideally you would weld them but crimping seems to work just fine. my memory of them is that the shields are aluminum. or are you saying crimp the clips?by frogster - Main Forum
it depends which shields. i don't remember how many there are nor where they are. i did it on the floor of my garage and it was tricky getting my arm up there. IIRC they were towards the rear of the car. it would be easier on a lift. and it's just the clips. the shields themselves are most likely fine. i think they're made of aluminum and don't really corrode. i wouldn't classify it as "easy" butby frogster - Main Forum
i had them rattling on my 986 as well. they are small clips and tend to fail, probably because of the heat they are subjected to. i remember picking up a few at the dealer and replacing them myself.by frogster - Main Forum
when you press the key button, does the LED on the dash at the base of the windshield flash? if it does, then the car is receiving the signal from the key. if it doesn't, then the car isn't receiving the signal and the key is probably not transmitting. not a solution in itself but just another step in the troubleshooting process.by frogster - Main Forum
and this guy is planning on making 33 of these monstrosities??? i totally agree with paulofto's comment "it looks nothing like a GT1."by frogster - Main Forum
that is just too funny. i seemed to recall seeing that in my MY2000 boxster but thought it was just a plug of some kind. never gave it much thought. i dug up an old photo and sho-nuff, there it was! this is one of those things that makes me think "no way!" but i guess why else would it be there? i always bought Mobil 1 in 4 (or 5?) liter jugs since it was much less expensive so i never had an oppby frogster - Main Forum
tony, the keys have two completely separate functions. first, there is an RFID "pill" that is part of the immobilizer system. second, there is a transmitter that locks/unlocks the doors and arms/disarms the alarm system. these two systems are independent of each other. the RFID pill is passive. it has no power source per se. its antenna receives a coded message from the corresponding antenna neaby frogster - Main Forum
when you do the tour, you don't see the body being assembled/welded. you don't see it getting painted. very cool video. thanks pedro!by frogster - Main Forum
i find that email, online forms, and other means of electronic communication simply have no value. since rarity directly impacts the value of things, and we simply have way too much email, text messages, twitter, et al, it simply has no value. like grant says, i would just drop by IRL to see what's happening. if you get blown off then as well, i guess you have a problem. try and find another dealby frogster - Main Forum
wow, that is interesting. thanks @Wayne K. i kinda like this car, for being from 1954 at least. the mecam's site says estimated sale price of $175-200k. my guess is that it'll go for much more.by frogster - Main Forum
i would also recommend popping the entire light assembly out so you don't have to worry about damaging the paint on the car.by frogster - Main Forum
i really love videos like that. thanks for sharing.by frogster - Main Forum
the only person i recognize for sure is Pedro. anyone care to identify the otheres? and CFG is Chris from Germany? i'm not sure if i remember that correctly. man that seems like a lifetime ago.by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteMikenOH I'm sure the cars will be quick, but wonder about the weight and range--especially when driven "spiritedly". and i wonder about the visceral experience. i know that electric is the future. the smell of gasoline, the ruckus of an ICE tuned for performance, and the mastery of clutch and stick are a big part of my life. it feels so strange to know they are on their way out.by frogster - Main Forum
ah, i thought that you took the pic of the body pre-assembly. thanks for all the explanations.by frogster - Main Forum
QuoteBLKBOXS Quotefrogster Mike, is that your boxster in the picture of the pre-assembly body? amazing if it is. and the exhaust sounds great! congrats on a gorgeous car! so are you going to drive around europe for a while? if so, where? it's a bit early to do any passes like the stelvio since they aren't open yet. Yes that is my Boxster as it was going through the manufacturing process. I didby frogster - Main Forum
you right click and open in a new tab. then when you get there you can see the other pics. i think there's one duplicate link in this post so there are only 4, not 5.
