They loved about an inch worth of each wire. Crazy little critters. I hope it hurt on the way out!by Jaay - Main Forum
UPDATE! I was away for a few weeks. I went through the wiring and found....... Underneath the trunk/hood latch assembly where the harness comes through to the CLU----- 2 mice chewed wires in half. With a quick strip and twist of them together the car fired and was perfect once again. Lesson learned, kill all mice! Now time to make it pretty with solder and heat shrink. Thanks for everyonesby Jaay - Main Forum
Went to the dealer yesterday and plugged in their computer. Still nothing. We all seem to think it is the dme. I am going to be borrowing a friends dme and clu and see if thats it. I will update soon.by Jaay - Main Forum
Grabbing my old trailer that one of my best buds still owns and dragging the car to porsche. going to throw it on a PIWIS and also have new fobs and CLU on order for monday. I hope this is it. I'll def. update soon.by Jaay - Main Forum
It was programmed by a porsche guy I knew from another forum. Todd was his name. I am going to see if a buddy of mine can take home his piwis from work.by Jaay - Main Forum
The car is a 99 with the stock ecu that has been reflashed 7 years ago to a 996 3.4 program. I never had a problem. I am just trying to avoid the dealer. They hate my car. lolby Jaay - Main Forum
So update... Nothing to report really. I jumped the starter relay to see if the all the starter and motor turns as normal. ---- It does. Cranks and sounds great just as always. There is power to the ecu. It still won't mount up to an OBD2 computer. Driving me nuts. I don't want to have to bring the car to a dealer as I am trying to sell it. Throwing dealer money at it would be nuts. Is iby Jaay - Main Forum
Also just thought... DME Relay maybe? Can anyone point me to the exact location for the DME's relay. Thank you. I feel it is work a look.by Jaay - Main Forum
Car is a manual. All dash lights are on. I can not stress enough that the dme is not connecting to the obd2 port. There is power there but will not connect. The alarm stuff if under the drivers seat and has power and fuse is good. Not corroded or wet. The car lives in a garage. Ordered a new ignition switch and will go from there. Thank you for the indepth RF knowledge. I feel like it isby Jaay - Main Forum
Pedro, Does the ecu have more than one power source? Main power in but then maybe a switch by relay source that comes from the ignition or immobilizer?by Jaay - Main Forum
I have not driven my car for a few months. I have started it and moved it around though. The car sits on a battery tender. I went out today to start it and it seems that the immobilizer won't let the car start. I tried both regular and valet keys. I also checked the fuse on the immobilizer itself and the fuse panel fuse. The car locks and un locks and the interior lights do what they are suby Jaay - Main Forum

Thanks. That is why I held off from that socket/clamp method. I will go your route as I am sure you have done it countless times. Thank you - Jasonby Jaay - Main Forum
I have a set of front s calipers that i rebuilt. Before i install them can some one tell me the proper watt to seat the new piston dust shields? I spoke with stoptech and they said to use a clamp and a socket to press them in. I have so far put them in by hand and dont known if they are seated correctly already or they need further persuading.by Jaay - Main Forum
Same. Working in NJ for the day. Any other day may work. Would be good to see you all again.by Jaay - Main Forum
This was not an attempt to make a better intake - though I did and succeeded. I put a 3.4 in the car and needed a custom intake. It is comprised of a 987 airbox, bmw Maf housing and silicone to an ipd plenum. There is a lot more done to the motor too. The car needed to be tuned and is. The only answer I was looking for was the target afr and I got it from a very respected tuner. As for as aby Jaay - Main Forum
Being that the Maf is not in its stock location, with different plumbing it messes up all the calibration. When I first finished the car it was running rich, down in the 10s. After a little manipulation I was able to get the mixture to where it is today. Anyone that has changed their intakes I would love to see a before and after of their egts and Afrs.by Jaay - Main Forum
Does anyone know what is a safe air fuel for my car to be running? I have 99 3.4 in my 986. Also Safe timing? Right now I have the aft's at about 12.8:1 from 4k up and the timing seems to level out about 22Deg. Any info would be great. I have searched elsewhere but nobody had an answer. Thank you.by Jaay - Main Forum
I ordered a new piston to play it safe. After all it is my brakes.by Jaay - Main Forum
Agreed. I am going to pick up a new one. I think they are about 25 dollars.by Jaay - Main Forum
I am at the end of my rebuild and the last piston that I am doing has some chips in the coating. Should I source a new piston or is this ok to use? I feel that it is not ok. Link to the photos [986forum.com]by Jaay - Main Forum
How I feel it should have been stock. I feel that if the motor was offered the same year they should have optioned it. How it should have been done. Boxster S 3.2, Boxster GT 3.4, Boxster Turbo S. There never would have been a 911 Vs. Boxster issue.by Jaay - Main Forum

Just about 40000 miles on the original dual row. It looked great to me. There was no play and no metal shavings. I drive my car pretty hard and change the oil every 2500 milesby Jaay - Main Forum
