2003 and later cars use a MOST bus which is not compatible.by Boxsterra - Parts for Sale
Unplug the battery so that the car will relearn the ignition mapping. If your car is pre-2003 you will need to have your radio code to get the radio working after you reconnect the battery. The car might run poorly for a minute or two while it learns the new parameters.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
and many of us have observed improved shifting after changing it.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

Their interface is a little difficult to navigate and their information isn't 100% complete but I do find it to be a valuable reference and it is online, which is convenient.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
You can program the new DME to work with the immobilizer. And you can swap to two DMEs back and forth. There is nothing to do to use the old DME again since it has not been programmed. Furthermore you can get a DME for under $500 as long as you don't go to a rip off place.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I did the same thing with the Blizzaks I got for my 1999 Boxster. In the winter they could drive up the side of a block of ice. But the road feel was dreadful. I switched to more sporty tires and the road feel was much better but all of a sudden there was a real risk of getting stuck in snow/slush. It would be good to find something in between those two.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
The problems you are experiencing can be diagnosed by a mechanic with electronics knowledge. If you swap the DME and it works, what does that tell you? (I say, nothing) If you swap the DME and it doesn't work, what does that tell you? (I say nothing) As soon as the circuit shorts again, the problem will recur and damage to the new DME will be risked.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
because that means I can say without risk of defamation that I know who you're talking about and that they are full of it. That's not to say that they don't have valuable information but that they deliberately distort the truth.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
It sounds to me like you have a pinch/chafe/crush/etc. in your wiring harness. The max output of the O2 sensors is supposed to be 1.0v. Since the O2 sensors are showing errors, that is a good place to start. Bad O2 sensor readings can cause misfires on random cylinders. Here is the diagnostic procedure for checking the wires. I would not assume that either mechanic did it right. Also, the problby Boxsterra - Main Forum

The shifter could need to be adjusted (adjustments are under the center console). The shift linkage at the transmission could need grease. The shift linkage at the transmission could have play.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I looked at what was recommended. Then I called and spoke to one of their techs to find out why they recommended it and make sure there was no question about which product was best. The RedLine product may be slightly cheaper than the Porsche but it is still definitely not worth it. It was significantly worse than stock. I wouldn't put it in if it was free.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I switched to Redline at 75k miles and noticed an immediate decrease in shifting quality. I changed back to Porsche stock fluid and the problem was resolved. No problems since (now at 150k miles).by Boxsterra - Main Forum
but instead something more upstream, possibly a bad ground connection. I would start by checking the headlight switch for excess play.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

Plug a wireless Bluetooth unit into your aux in. Then you get the stock look with the added functionality. Most aftermarket solutions like they've been shoehorned in and are ugly, though functional.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

In any case, I believe that Porsche does recommend replacing the lug bolts on tire changes, which for many is more often than oil changes. I have no problem with disagreement. That makes things interesting. And from that we learn. It's all good.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Porsche recommends single use of nearly every bolt from caliper bolts to the drain plug. That doesn't mean there is a good reason or that there is a reason we care about.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
