I thought it was polarity, but the LED does blink and the incandescent no longer works. Someone suggested the front control module may think there is a problem and no longer grounding the path for the steady on. I'll need to find a durametric pro to check it.by Cris - Main Forum
So, I tried (keyword) replacing the front side signals (blinkers) with canbus LED bulbs (built-in load resistors). After I put the LED bulbs in and I turn the lights on (parking or headlights), the side lights no longer light up. The tail lights will come on, the city lights come on, but nothing from the side markers (the orange light housing that most everyone do as their 1st mod). Anyways, theby Cris - Main Forum

- change oil - wash & wax - clean & treat the soft top ...I think that's it. We'll be stopping in Savannah on Tuesday night.. then driving up Wed after lunch. Drive safe & see everyone there!by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
it shouldn't take long to R&R the console. So, bring your SSK along just in case - doesn't take much room.by Cris - Main Forum
I know in past years, Pedro (who won't be there this yr) helped folks install the SSK. If you have someone familiar with the R&R, it shouldn't take more than an hour or so.by Cris - Main Forum

there are couple of screen shots between these two articles: These are on the 987's. Do you see the same set of screen/options when you plug into your car? I'll google and let you know what I find for the 986's.by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
I wrote this up a couple weeks back... In case anyone is interested in removing their center console, replace shift boot, upgrade to short shifter, here is a guide to help. You can download the PDF here:by Cris - Main Forum
In preparation for BRBS, I decided to replaced my engine air filter this morning. While at it, I documented the steps so other 987 DIY'ers can tackle this simple maintenance job if they wish. You can download the PDF file here: . Let me know if there are any questions. Chrisby Cris - Main Forum
but it doesn't look like what you're looking for is an option. I assume you don't want people to open your trunks when you have the top/windows down? Some of the standard coding are in the manual. E.g., the manual (in 2008) talks about coding to auto-lock when car is moving. I had my dealer re-code this when I took delivery of the car. Other published (tested by other owners) coding include coby Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
but I believe durametric will work on cars from the late 90's to present. And PST-2 that Pedro mentioned is up to 2004 (I believe).by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
then I'm interested in buying them. I'll also be at BRBS and can pickup there. Let me know if they are the dash trims or if they're something else. Thanks!by Cris - Parts for Sale
I got mine through either a cayman or a 911 GB's. If they sell the parts... I can't see why they would exclude because of the model. You can always ask.by Cris - Parts for Sale
I'll bring the list of things you can do with the durametric.... and a beer for your help. :-) I'll be in a yellow 987 boxster s with black wheels.by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
I don't remember the service schedule, but I was surprised how dirty it was at 17k miles. Maybe it's time to also change the air filter (before BRBS).by Cris - Main Forum
i was browsing for boxster parts and accessories and thought someone had put one up for bid. G'luck.by Cris - Main Forum
I wrote this post on 6speed... with pictures. http://www.6speedonline.com/forums/boxster-cayman/227677-instructions-swapping-cayman-spoiler.html Hope this helps!by Cris - Main Forum
I think various forums organize them... and you get a reasonable discount. Do a google search for schild group buy. G' luck!by Cris - Parts for Sale
Will there be someone with the Durametric (full version) at this year's event? I'd like to get the side-markers coded to serve as directional indicators. Thanks & see everyone in a month!by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)

Some owners (B&M and others) mentioned their shifters have more side-to-side play (compared with OE units). Have you guys experience this?by Cris - Parts for Sale
I still have the ticket and lanyard as souvenir. It's was a zoo as others have mentioned; you have a wide range of spectators from different walks of life. Non-stop parties and wild people. I'd imagine they probably have something similar at the 24hrs of Le Mans. Anyways, I wouldn't let the zoo, wild people and non-stop parties scare you... it's something to experience. Much like if you haven't dby Cris - Main Forum
The best thing to do is to look up this information at your local DMV. I assume your province requires cars to be inspected (annually or otherwise). If so, I would start with that inspection check list - what is the acceptable passing level. Last thing you need is failed inspection because the law says you cannot have non-factory exhaust or something. If you can't find it at the DMV, chat up theby Cris - Main Forum
If you don't track/DE your car, you can go with any DOT-4 fluid. I have used Valvoline synethic DOT-4 fluid (blue bottle) from Autozone/pepboys. It's relatively inexpensive, easy to find and one bottle does the job. As long as you change the fluid within 24 months cycle, you will be fine. If you do track/DE, change your fluid once a year (or more depending on how often you DE) and you should thenby Cris - Main Forum
I always have a follow-up question. What was the telltale sign the sump wasn't holding pressure? Was it the air pressure gauge on accusump? A number of folks are installing these in the transmission tunnels. So, for those owner, they would really have no way of telling if the diaphram had failed unless to crawl under the car? Thanks!by Cris - Main Forum
Any difference in functionality between your approach (accusump dumping oil into the oil cooler -top) compared with the sandwich plate (accusump dumping oil at the cooler - bottom)? E.g., I'd think when accusump dumps the 2 or 3qt of oil at the filter via sandwich plate, the oil is readily available at the bottom of the motor for pick-up. Oil from the oil cooler would need to make its way from toby Cris - Main Forum
dumping their cars like bad habit and upgrading to the Cayman R... Plus, Nina already reminded me (once more this morning) I can't use "my engine may grenade" as an excuse to upgrade. I thought it was a pretty sound argument myself. There are a few folks on P-9 who mounted the accusump in the transmission tunnel. I may do the same thing (or somewhere near the rear bumper.
