I really like my 2008 Boxster S and like it more to run it at DE's when I can. While I'm still running street tires (Hankook Ventus v12) and have a habit of short shifting @ <6500 rpm, I do try to squeeze as much out of the car when I'm @ DE's... and at some point go with stickier tires. After reading many posts on the interweb about M96/97 (Cayman/Boxster) grenading... I am thinking accusumpby Cris - Main Forum
We didn't get to meet @ Sebring, but nice driving Harvey... And congrats on getting bumped! My fiancee was running in the green group as well - you may have seen/passed her in the grey BMW 135i. You are correct - having a good instructor is absolutely critical. Kudos to Pedro! Her instructor had to spent about 2 full sessions undoing the bad habits (brake ~300' too early, coast in to turns!) sheby Cris - Main Forum

Nina and I had a great time again this year! It was fantastic to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Sorry we didn't really had the opportunity to say goodbye to everyone.. We left LS under the cover of darkness Sunday morning determined to make the 800mi drive to Ft Lauderdale in one day. Like 2010, the drive home this was uneventful, no drama, no police and no ticket - left LS at 5:45aby Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)

E. Ft Laud and driving straight through via I-75 to ATL. Google maps says it should take just less than 10hrs to NE ATL - where hotels are less expensive and Elan is 40 min away... which is OK too (Elan is almost 3x as much). Open to caravaning from S. FL if anyone is interested.by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)

that should put us into LS early afternoon. Or, could take the more scenic route and get there just before dinner. Choices.by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Anyone else planning to arrive Wednesday (June 1)? Just called LSI and appears I made reservation last year to check in on Wed. I suppose is not bad, since I'm making the long drive...What's one extra day for local sightseeing. Others?by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
then remove the calipers for servicing. You may be able to find a friend with compressor. I got the brackets from EVO Motorsport... I don't think they sell them anymore. BIRA sold their kits for a couple years only - I have friends with the BIRA kit.by Cris - Main Forum
I bought a pair of Boxster calipers from a junkyard for my Audi A4. Before installing them, replace the (8) dust caps and seal (IIRC) before painting them red and mounting them on the A4. While it's not necessary to replace the dust caps and seals (unless they're broken), you may as well you're taking the calipers off. You would only need to rebuild the o-rings for the pistons if you've let the dby Cris - Main Forum
as much as using the 3M headlight protection film to protect the lens after sanding. the 3m film is probably easier to find/order. that is all.by Cris - Main Forum
I did that on my A4 (with HID). I polished the haze with the Meguire's headlight restoration kit (a buffer attached to drill). When that's done, I applied the 3M headlight protection over it. The 3M film has UV coating on it.by Cris - Main Forum

I was telling my friend (with a heavily modified Z06) about BRBS over lunch, and he tells me he and his wife runs a few lodge rentals in Burnsville, outside Little Switzerland. I know Switzerland Inn is booked, so this is an option for those still looking for a place to stay for BRBS. The lodges are about 10miles/20min drive from Little Switzerland Inn (LSI), but certainly makes for a fun driveby Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Hopefully someone more familiar with that area can chime in with recommendation. Until then, I would search/call for near-by hotels/lodges using google maps or bing maps. I think most inns in the area offer pretty much the same thing, a clean bed, hot shower and good night sleep.by Cris - Blue Ridge Boxster Summit (BRBS)
Right... LS is a good location, right off a nice loop for driving. Though, I'll miss the opportunity to walk from hotel to a pretty good selection of cafe/restaurants for breakfast/lunch/dinner, or walk over to Kilwan's for ice-cream before turning in. Not sure how many people knew about this, but there is also a decent size public park with a pond with walking trails...which was nice too. Nonethby Cris - Main Forum
Jack, I was originally going to make BRBS and Parade. Though, after looking through the Parade agenda, I didn't find activities too appealing (to me) to make the trek to Savannah. I love Savannah and love taking my car on road trips,...but I'm with Pedro that BRBS is my priority. Hope you enjoy your trip to Savannah and the Parade! I'll let you know if I change my mind.by Cris - Main Forum

So, what other ideas (besides driving) do people have: - The Emerald Village: (15min away) - Kayaking/Whitewater Rafting is an hour away (45min away) Lastly, besides the gift shop and ice-cream parlor next to Switzerland Inn, are you guys/gals aware of near-by "towns" that we can venture to? I noticed last couple of DE outings I have brake fluid seeping at the bleeder screws (at multiple calipers). I do not notice seepage after normal street driving. Evidently I did not tighten down the screw tight enough for track use. I don't want to over torque the screw, since the monoblock is aluminum and the screw is steel, and steel > aluminum. That said, does anyone (Pedro?) know what theby Cris - Main Forum
I have for sale a set of near new Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 off a 2008 Boxster S. They are factory 18" sizes: 235/40/18 (F) & 265/40/18 (R). They are N2 spec with less than 3000 highway miles (including 1500 break-in miles driving from NJ to FL) on them. So, they are practically new, even wear, no flat spots or tire rot. Tires are currently are mounted on the factory wheels, but I'll unmount tby Cris - Parts for Sale
