And if you read the whole article carefully, it says that SALES of the cars in the EU and other countries that apply EU regulations will stop. Production of ICE cars for North America and other parts of the world will continue for another couple of years.by fgv1it - Main Forum
Intercity. I've used them a couple of times to ship cars cross-country, and the service was very good. Not the cheapest you will find, but worth it.by fgv1it - Main Forum
Sorry. It didn't do anything for me. Porsche has done a lot better commercials in the past.by fgv1it - Main Forum
Great set of pictures. Congratulations! Like you, my wife and I have had 986, 987, and 981 Boxsters through the years. You really never get tired of them.by fgv1it - Main Forum
I have a mixed experience with my two cars. The 2017 Panamera reads, as Pedro says, about 2-3 mph faster than the actual speed of the car, at least in the range from about 30 to 60 mph. The 2014 Boxster, on the other hand, seems to be accurate to within 1 mph in the same range of speed. I always thought that all German car speedometers tended to be be a little optimistic, because of German regulaby fgv1it - Main Forum
Just to add one more data point, the 2014 Boxster (Base model) that I got about a month ago will be at around 13.1-13.3 V at start-up, climb to around 14.8-15 V at highway speeds, and drop down to 13.7-14 V when I get back down to normal city speeds. So, all these fluctuations appear to be "normal".by fgv1it - Main Forum
Thanks, Laz. Something to keep in mind while wearing polarized glasses. I am also finding it disconcerting that in these cars, the right-hand display is digital, and as such always illuminated, while the other two dials are mainly analog, and are not lit in the daytime. The difference in illumination is striking. Is there a way to set the illumination of the instrument dials to always be on? Iby fgv1it - Main Forum
Thank you for the welcome back. In reply to your posts, the color is actually "Amaranth Red Metallic", a color I had never heard of until I saw this car. Under certain light conditions, it can easily be mistaken for other reds, particularly carmine, but to my eye, carmine has a little more orange in it. The option list is short: PDK, 20-inch Carrera 2 wheels, infotainment package with Bose soundby fgv1it - Main Forum
I have been away from this forum for about two years, mainly because two years away I traded in the Boxster, a 2012 987.2, for a new, second generation Panamera. Well, the Panamera has turned out to be a fantastic car, but I was missing the convertible experience. Well, two weeks ago I corrected that situation with a used, 2014 981: Very happy to be back in the fold, and to be ready for Spby fgv1it - Main Forum
Having owned four 911's and three Boxsters in my driving career, and for long periods one of each side by side, your question kind of hit home to me. The short answer is that you can not go wrong; they are both wonderful cars. I must say, however, that after I got "to a certain age" and I decided to trade in my sport cars for a more "luxury" ride (a Panamera), I find myself missing my last Boxsteby fgv1it - Main Forum
"sway bar links" or "drop links" are two terms that I've heard for what you describe.by fgv1it - Main Forum
You made me laugh with your description of the Panamera. I have a 2017 4S, and it took me oh, about three months before I figured out how to turn off the radio. Surprisingly, it is one function that is NOT on the touch screen or the touch buttons in the center console. You simply hold the volume button (a real, physical button) down for about two seconds, and the whole PCM turns off. The other stby fgv1it - Main Forum
Interesting video. I've found the basic lane keep assist from Porsche very intrusive, and strong in the amount of force it applies to the steering. What's more, in some cases, such as fairly sharp turns on the road, the system sometimes mis-reads the lane markings, and thinks you are leaving your lane when you are actually trying to follow the turn. The system then applies that strong force to keby fgv1it - Main Forum
In the new Panamera, they do. They are all optional, and expensive, but they range from the basic lane keep assist, as Gunther points out, to full emergency braking, to traffic jam assist, which actually drives the car for you following the car in front up to about 35 mph, to InnoDrive, which looks ahead about 2 miles (using the nav database and real-time traffic info) and sets the car up "for opby fgv1it - Main Forum
Thank you. Now the waiting begins...It's going to be a long second half of the year.by fgv1it - Main Forum
Sure. Panamera 4S, air suspension with PASM, Sport Chrono, Premium Package Plus (a number of luxury items), matrix LED headlights, front seat ventilation, heated steering wheel, and rear wiper. Exterior color is Mahogany Metallic, and the interior is the Black/Chalk leather combination that you see in many of the published pictures and videos. I ordered it about a week after the official announceby fgv1it - Main Forum
Well, I also like the new Panamera quite a bit. So much so, that I've ordered one. The dealer tells me it should be here in January. Oh, the waiting begins....by fgv1it - Main Forum
Rain? Someone said rain? Not Boxsters, and is in German, but some beautiful cars and pictures nonetheless.by fgv1it - Main Forum
Congratulations, Dennis. That is a fine choice for an all-around car. Keep the Bullitt and enjoy them both. I assume there is no IMS in this Cayman?by fgv1it - Main Forum
As it happens, my wife and I got a Cadillac CTS-4 3.6 about two months ago. Having been Mercedes and Porsche customers for the past 30 years or so, we naturally assumed that the new car would be a MB, perhaps the new C-class that was getting some pretty good reviews in the press. Well, we got one of those as a loaner when we took our GL SUV in for service, and I found that I absolutely hate thatby fgv1it - Main Forum
Congratulations, Jeff. Beautiful car. We seem to agree on colors - If I remember correctly, your previous Boxster was macademia metallic with sand beige interior, and I now have a Macademia and sand beige Carrera. Before that, I had a seal gray Carrera with stone gray interior. So, good choice of colors! Enjoy it to the fullest.by fgv1it - Main Forum
