I replaced mine and didn't seal with anything 2000 S. Not getting it. I forget as it was a few years a go, but I think the core comes with a foam seal installed.... I think it was a foam thing... just can't remember. Easy job. See the seal on the old one here, it is just under the black plastic top thingy. Pedro, I will do the MAF cleaning this week. I need to look at the air filters anyway as I was in and out of seriously filthy dusty places lately and wanted to check them anyway. Another question: Can I bang these air filters on the ground and get some more life out of them like we did in the "old days"? Regarding the hesitation, I found quite a few folks who have this issue fromby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum

I am having an intermittent issue with my 2009 C2S Coupe approx 30K miles. I thought I would post this here as the expertise appears very high. Pedro has done a good job with this forum. Odd, I get a miss when accelerating slightly when the engine is cold. It appears to be around 3200 RPM but I am not sure it is dependent on RPM. No lights.... no other symptoms. The new trend in laser detectors appears to be in integration with the internet for identification of traps and current trooper locations. Also integration with phones for better control and information albeit this does not sound that important to me. Integrations still appear nascent to me. I just found out this crazy Bose PCM system plays DVD Audio and decodes the surround!!! Not the fake, processed in Bose surround crap, but the real deal on the disc. For those who don't know what this is, DVD-A was supposed to be a super high-fidelity standard. This was the next, highest quality storage and playback system. It failed (or is it still alive?) due to many reasons, one of whiby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
Wasn't the reason the track was retired from formal racing was because cars were getting so fast the hills would launch cars into space? Well maybe not an actual orbit, but not a good thing nonetheless. Peace Bruce in Phillyby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
I am impressed with Mike's openness regarding this stuff. Most companies just lie about what they or doing or their product whatever... Despite the price, I like my V1 and have no reason to dislike it.... I have owned mine for many years. Peace Bruce in Phillyby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
My Valentine One radar detector is about 12 years old and Valentine will upgrade it to current tech for about $279. They imply that once they receive my older unit, they will just ship me a new one. Worth It? Notice a difference or improvement? They say I get some stuff like the ESP firmware that will then work with my Android phone for more detailed data, some improved sensitivity but onlyby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
What are you folks using? What should I look for. I have a Motorola w/Android. My detector is a V1 from around 2000, Valentine will upgrade it to current spec for $297 and their app will now work with the phone although their app doesn't have the radar trap warning like the Escort one. That Escort software looked fantastic in the Csaba Csere vid. Peace Bruce in Phillyby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
This is so common, I am quite annoyed that Porsche hasn't just demanded thicker plastic from their suppliers. In the rear trunk, pull the carpet/liner around the coolant tank (right side). If it is leaking, you will have some fluid under there. If it is, get it fixed right away as the system is under pressure and could get worse, like all of a sudden, and you will then pay for a flat bed.by Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum

You noted earlier that you have both driven and participated as a passenger in a whole host of Porsche models and years. Needless to say I am very envious of this!!! So.......... I just had a response on another board..... it is actually denoted in my manual... and is a purposely designed feature of the C2 Coupe only (not the cab). The auto feature does not work until the half-point and only for the passenger window in the coupe. I read that manual a bunch of times and I did not see this aspect. I will blame the manual; you are welcome to blame me. Just be kind. Oby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum

On my 2009 C2S.... Auto-upping.... is that a real word? Actually, it will auto-up but not until the window is about half-way up, then it goes. Really really annoying. Anybody experience this? I posted this question on another 997 forum but I found the technical expertise here really good. I suspect Porsche uses the same system in all their cars of this vintage. Even the Porsche Carrera GT .... just no desire at all. We barely can understand the amazing technology in our own Porsche sports cars let alone these stupid things. Yes, I said stupid. To understand our cars, and be better/safer drivers, we must track our cars... something I and other folks highly recommend. Look at this another way, 50% of the population like bigger.... b**bs. I have spoken to many high-end audio retailers and the all pretty much concur that young people just don't care about high fidelity. I find this terribly sad as high fidelity can add so much enjoyment to your life and more life to the music you already listen to. How do you compete with an iPod or the Walmartification of technology? Good brands are out of business. There are no upgrade paths fby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
Feel free to call me anytime, but I am not sure how I can help. The system was installed by Goodman Radio in Bryn Mawr... not sure what they would charge to transfer it. The head unit just pulls out.... friction holds it in. There you will see the hookups. I am 99% sure they ran some new cables between the head unit and the amps in the trunk... I guess you could just pull them out and redo whby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum

Good points.... Regarding the Sweep system in general: Yes, a BandAid. I trust my local installer and he said it is an improvement but I dunno, you gotta remove at least the Bose amp from the chain as far as I am concerned. Regarding flattening out what Bose did to frequency response: Good point, but I did not point out that you just don't do Clean Sweep, but change out all speakers. I just posted this on a popular 997 forum to address my Bose system in my 2009 C2S but I suspect they use the same system in all cars........ I stopped in a really good car audio place here in Bryn Mawr PA, just outside of Philly, to discuss what can be done to improve these Bose systems.
