Yeah, it was lowered about 2" for the first half of its life. Then I switched to PSS9s and it was only lowered about an inch. Then I only bottomed out on some of the bumps, not all of them. Don't know when I'll get a new sports car. For now, the Macan is enough but eventually I'll get something else.by Douglas - Main Forum
Just used the standard Mobil 1. The car was serviced by the dealer throughout its life. I've never used any special additives.by Douglas - Main Forum
Besides being my daily driver, I tracked the car for about the first 5 years so I got in the habit of double declutching (heel and toe) for downshifts. Won't be doing that any longer now that I only have a Macan GTS (which I also love). Yes, most of my commuting miles are on the highway.by Douglas - Main Forum
Thankfully there were no injuries. Yes, it was the original engine. The most significant work that was done to the car was replacing the clutch at 200,000 miles. Also had the IMS and RMS replaced at that time.by Douglas - Main Forum
Final mileage on my 99 Boxster is 350,928. The car was hit and is a total loss so there will be no more miles. It's had a very good run. Now it's up to someone else to push the limits. Douglas P.S. Pedro, what is yours up to now?by Douglas - Main Forum
Some of my coworkers that drive BMWs use Shade Tree Garage. No personal experience as I don't drive BMWs. Douglasby Douglas - Main Forum
Nope. Except for a couple of years in Cambridge, UK, I've been located in North Carolina the whole time I've owned the Boxster.by Douglas - Main Forum
First post in a looong time. Don't know why the counter reset. Took Tourist Delivery of the car in June, 1999, a few months after the first BRBS. For those of you wanting the repair history, I'll just say that my file on this car is about 6" thick. That includes all scheduled maintenance. Biggest repair was getting the (original) clutch, IMS bearing and RMS replaced at 200,000 miles. Stillby Douglas - Main Forum
