I did this on my '98 and '09 Boxsters. You can transfer the seat belt buckle to the GT3 seat and plug the other end of it into the proper portion of the connector that is in the car. If your car currently has air bags or weight sensor, in the seat, you need to tell the car that these are not installed if you don't want lights on the dash. They should fit just fine as long as you have the rails/sliders. I use the 996 GT3 seats in my 987. They are attached to the floor with 4 torx bolts. On cars with OEM seats with the passenger seat weight sensor and/or seat airbags, you need to reprogram the car to tell it that equipment is not longer installed to get ride of the warning lights.
