Hi JG, hope all is well. I took the Boxster for a 10-day getaway trip in early December to visit relatives. My first trip of any kind in 3 years, lol. I miss the BRBS' events at the Meadowbrook Inn from the early 2000's! Best regards, -Rick.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
You don't see too many Forest Green Boxsters. It's a cool color. When I spec'ed my '00 Boxster S, Forest Green had become one of the $3k special order paints. So I ended up going with Rain Forest Green. Here's my car at an overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway at a BRBS event.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
I too knew Gary from here on Pedros's forum, as well as from PPBB. We met at several BRBS events. In addition to cars, Gary also enjoyed watches. I never knew the full extent of his military service, so thanks for sharing, Pedro. I just made a donation to the guide dog organization. Deepest condolences to his wife and family.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
Cecil's enthusiasm for his 993 inspired me to get one. I also met Cecil at a BRBS event one year. He was helping out on the poker run that year. Thoughts and prayers to his wife.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
BRBS event attendees from the early 2000s will fondly remember one of the lead resident photographers, Bob Chapman. At the Thursday evening dinner of the very first BRBS event I attended (May 2000), my wife and I had the good fortune to sit at the same table as Bob and his wife. We had some nice conversations about Porsches, photography, and life. At multiple succeeding BRBS events, Bob's legeby Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
Hope you're enjoying that beauty to the fullest. I have a similar looking car that just turned 20 a few months ago. I am the original owner. Agreed, it's a great color. Mine says hello and happy birthday! From BRBS a few years ago.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
Very much appreciated. I spoke to Jeff in early January. We were making plans to meet up at a new microbrewery in town. Then he got super-busy at work, so we put it on hold. Glad to hear he's good. I am very thankful to report that the recent tornadoes here bypassed my neighborhood and immediate area as well. Btw, I hope all is good with you, too. My 2000 Boxster S turned 18 this past April (I am the original and only owner), so I decided to treat it--and myself--to a new radio and outboard amp. I'd been wanting to do this for a while. I researched a few units, and read some reviews. I had 3 simple requirements. I needed it to play usb sticks, sound halfway decent, and fit in reasonably well with my car's black interior. ..your interesting, informative, and helpful automotive insight. Besides, you *know* you'll be acquiring another Pcar soon, lol. You've as much indicated on several occasions. So please stick around and continue offering your Porsche knowledge and wisdom. Kind regards, -Rick. QuoteMarcW Think it best to leave. Hi Marc, I hope all is well. I seem to recall someone saying that the coke bottle wind sound is possibly related to something in the evaporative emissions control system. I used to notice this sound from time to time--at slower speeds--on my '00 S. It seems like it originated from the passenger side (outside the car somewhere). I didn't do anything specific about it, and the sound eventuallyby Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
I always admired it and looked forward to seeing it at BRBS every year.. Congrats on a great, low-mileage find. Sounds like Pedro has gotten your car well sorted. He's a great guy. Hope you enjoy many happy miles. Regards, -rick.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum
Wimbledon Green metallic.. It was a mid-to-late '90s color, and when I spec'ed my '00 Boxster S in November 1999, I remember it being available on the Boxster options list as a special order paint.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum

Very big congrats, JG. It is an absolutely *phenomenal* looking car!! The paint is strikingly unique and beautiful, and I love the leather interior, too. Have fun with it, and I hope you enjoy many happy and rewarding miles! Best regards, -rick.by Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum

On my '00 Boxster S, I finally solved the problem by picking up a pair of Boxster-specific Porsche leather sunvisors from Gert at Carnewal and replacing the originals altogether, lol. He's based in Belgium, and they were a bit pricey, but the cool leather visors are a precision fit and they match the full leather interior in my S very nicely. This is probably not very helpful, lol. Hope youby Rick (Nashville, TN) - Main Forum

She lived in Florida for 18 years (& moved back to Ohio in 2006 after my Dad passed), and she still follows the news & weather in FL, lol. Hope all is well with you.
