ok thanks for the tips I will check it out.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
sorry for not doing this sooner but the fuse was good and the cleaner made the light a little brighter. I guess it is some where in the line.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I think that is what happens on purpose. It is a "saftey measure". If you had the car outside but don't lock it will lock itself after a while. Just hitting the lock unlock will unlock everything.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
thanks Pedro, I will check it. and do the contact cleaner.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I don't know if I have ever heard about this, but my passenger side headlight is dim. I got a new bulb and replaced it but it was dim as well, so I thought I got a bad blub, so I returned to and got a new one, but that one is dim as well. I am now thinking something else is the issue. Has anyone (Pedro) heard of this before and hopefully it is a simple fix. TIA BTW it is a 2001 S.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
That's what I was going to do at first but then had a question... Thanksby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I have an 01 S and I wondering if it is a battery issue or alternator or.... issue. Basically, if I run errands in the Boxster when I get in the car and start it, it strains to start. It does start on the 1st try but... It does not happen when I start it for the first time of the day or when it has sat for a few hours. I have also charged the battery overnight and it took a full charge, but iby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I have not figured it out yet, but think I might have. It was goldish in color and I think it is the coolant. I noticed the coolant was low and I filled it up, and I just checked again and it is low. So I am guessing it is the coolant. It is not coming out a lot and it seemed to leak only when I used the AC. Sorry I got preoccupied with something. I will let you all know when I know. Thankby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I have an '01 S and it has developed a leak. It is coming from the drivers side front and I thought it might be coolant but when I felt it, it felt oily. Is oil pumped to the front of the car? I would not think so but... I am mistaken about the oily feel? I am hoping it is from the radaitor and just a loose hose or something... It is not a large leak, maybe a teaspoon, and it seems to only lby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I don't like the looks. I guess compared to the plate, but it just seems funky to me.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
This was meant for Frogster's post. I would not put the decal on my car.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
The holes are already there, so might as well use them.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I live in Ca and no I would not put that on my car ughby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I had the same thing happen to me. There was no skirt and it would not push in. I looked at the 2 and the new one was much smaller. I returned it and went to Napa, but checked it when I got it to make sure it would fit, and it was the correct size.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I have to get a new front license plate and was looking at the needed parts. There are 2 types of screws needed and they are a Head Tapping Screw 4.2 x 32, and a screw 4.2 x 9.5. I am assuming this is metric but can I use a 4 mm x 32 mm and a 4 mm by 9 mm?by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
thanks I'll check it outby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I have an '01 S and the other day I drove to work and when i got out of the car I noticed steam coming out from the front of the door jam. I looked under the car and saw it dripping quite a bit of coolant. It did have a smell to it. and when I checked the coolant level it was below the min level. I did notice the AC was not as cold as it usually gets. On the way home I did not use the AC andby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Quotefrogster and i wonder about the visceral experience. i know that electric is the future. the smell of gasoline, the ruckus of an ICE tuned for performance, and the mastery of clutch and stick are a big part of my life. it feels so strange to know they are on their way out. The visceral experience of an EV racecar Like listening to someone getting a root canal doby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I've driven this route hundreds of times but I have never been there on Friday mornings. I looks like it would be interesting/fun. Thanks for posting this. I think I'll try it in a couple of weeks.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
So I tried the fix for the window drop, but after I pulled off the door panel the wire covering had no play in it. So based on this I need new microswitch? The window does drop if I hold the handle up and release it right before it closes, but this is a pain in the axx. TIAby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
You could think of it as good and better settings. I have PSS9's and I was taking notes on the setting at each corner, type of track, temp, time of day... then I realized I am not a full time racer so I said just enjoy the track day. I came with some good settings and just stuck with it.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
Does anyone know where I can get good touch up paint? I got some off of eblah and they said it was my year and color but when I put it on, it is not the same color. It is a little darker. I only put a little on so I can cover it up, but does anyone know of a place that has the correct color and not one that is "close". As a side note, my polisher pad on my buffer came apart so I was lookingby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
soldering skills are begineer at best. I do know someone who does have soldering skills and this would be obvious and and easy fix? If not then I guess a new key coded from the dealer is the only other option?by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum

thanks, but what about he said I should get a new key because the old key is now "coded" as a bad key? and you have heard of the system going into antitheft mode?by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
The shop called and asked if I could bring a spare key to the shop because they were getting an antitheft code on the obd. Puzzled as to why I would get that I said I will bring it over. They tried the spare key and it started right up. He did it a few times just to make sure. I asked why would I have an antitheft code on my car when I was starting it with my key? He said if you push the locby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
Unfortunately, it is sitting at the shop, so I can not try some of the options. Well I hope it is the ignition switch. I agree about the switch being hard to access. I replaced it a few years ago and I had to get my wife to get her hands in there. Thanks for your thoughts.by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
I just replaced it a year or two ago. But it does crank and fire so...by Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
Hello Everyone, well here I go again with another problem. I was out today just driving around, stopped for some lunch but then when I got back in and tried to start it, it would crank and it would sound like it started but as soon as I let go of the key it would die. I had no check engine light and I had my odb reader with me and there was nothing on that. The electrical was fine because allby Michael SYS Driver - Main Forum
