He even says as much in the caption to the video: "First time I've seen a Performante so couldn't resist having a closer look! Thanks to the driver for offering me multiple times to pass, however I wanted to keep his cool car in the picture so apologies for staying close! " Not the other driver's fault at all.by decay - Main Forum
It certainly is not like the old tiptronics. When I had my loaner, I thought at first it was PDK also since it did not drive like the old ones. I started playing with the configurator and realized that it was in fact not PDK. I could live with itby decay - Main Forum
I got a Cayenne loaner once too. I was surprised by how nice it was. There is no PDK Cayenne though. It is tiptronic only.by decay - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario So, no, a short drive doesn't make much sense. Understood. I have no concept being a Floridian.by decay - Main Forum
Is it so bad in winter that you can't even fire it up once a week or so and take it for a spin around the block? Or are you not there and snowbirding it somewhere?by decay - Main Forum
I had the same problem with my 2011 Boxster. The tech at the dealer said the cupholders are the most complicated piece of equipment that he had to deal with in the car. I was told to never close the cupholders with them expanded at all. Always compress them all the way before inserting them into the dash. What happens is that the cupholders will stick at the last notch, and become difficult tby decay - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario Quotefrogster the license plate frame on the rear said Houston so i don't think you have to worry too much g-man! Well, my travels have taken me thought Texas. I don't like to see this guys giving Porsche and Houston a bad name. You realize of course this is fake. The "computer" in the Porsche does not have the power nor the CPU type to run a full copy of Windows. Cby decay - Main Forum
Well, this has been a challenge for a long time. A piece of technology is not considered complete unless you can run Doom on it. More importantly, I would love to see how he would handle the 3d nature of Quake. Perhaps adjusting the side view mirror up and down looks up and down, and hitting traction control will jump.by decay - Main Forum
You have three good choices down here in my opinion. 1. Pedro (obviously) 2. TuneRS in Coral Springs (they work with Pedro a lot too) 3. KMW in Boca Raton I have used all three. Convenience of location (and my time availability) usually determines which one I use. You can't go wrong with any of them. For the 2016, and your warranty service (if you need it), Braman is very good.by decay - Main Forum
Thanks Pedro, I am looking for a CPO 981 Boxster with some very specific requirements (Xenon, Power/Heated/Ventilated seats). Figuring out dealer pricing on these cars is one of the mysteries of mankind. I missed an opportunity at an Orlando dealer as they dropped the price of one Boxster by almost 10k in a month, but I hesitated just a bit too long.by decay - Main Forum
Thanks Pedro. I have been there, and they were very nice, but they don't have the car I want, unfortunately. The search continues.by decay - Main Forum
Just a question for any South Florida folks. Has anyone dealt with Champion recently for buying a car? I tried them 6 years ago, and it was the weirdest, most frustrating, unprofessional experience I have ever had at ANY car dealership. Long story short: 1. I see a car online, and go to the dealer. 2. Find disinterested salesman, who while looking up the car in the computer, yells across theby decay - Main Forum
I keep old copies of Christophorus around to see the evolution of the watch. Occasionally there is something about cars in there, usually a Porsche.by decay - Main Forum

Quotefrogster i just don't get excited by the sound of the new boxster. i think it's a sharp looking car but i'm not sure i would buy one. the thought, and sound, of a four cylinder sitting just behind me does not excite me. i remember one of the things that i liked best about my 2000 986S was the intake sound after I de-snorkled it. oh was it ever sweet. i can't imagine you could get anything lby decay - Main Forum
Quotedb997S They even like the engine note: Motor Trend's Take on the 718 Not to worry. In a year or so, no one will care about the engine sound. A couple of years back, everyone was whining about the e-brake and the steering of the 981. No one cares now. The 718 is an evolutionary change, and a damn good one at that. I love my 2011 S, but it is a vastly inferior car to the 718.by decay - Main Forum
My guess is that if you could purchase these, you could just get all of them.by decay - Main Forum
I am curious. So how does that work for you when you drive somewhere warmer in the winter? It would seem your snow tires are toast because of it. Will you attempt to go with all seasons in the future? Or would you have three sets; winter for only up north, all seasons if you were to leave during winter, and summer for the rest of the time?by decay - Main Forum
QuotePedro (Weston, FL) … No more trucks! Happy Boxstering, Pedro That's too bad. I will be there next week. This means I can't get my mother worried about getting decapitated by a truck when I tell her I am going. I will have to rile her up another way.by decay - Main Forum
QuoteJackintheBoxster A friend has one of the new Cadillacs as a loaner -- it's not quite my cup of tea, but they're really nice, in my book. Cadillac seems to be sliding back to what it does best -- big-ass American cars. I hasten to add, though, that I sat in it and found the seats and the layout very BMW-like. The car is not a BMW clone but would definitely appeal to someone who likes Europby decay - Main Forum

So, today there was a huge storm here in South Florida. There was a huge power surge that knocked out the power to my garage (had to flip the breaker). So, a few hours later, I go to start the Boxster, and the dash lights flash, the ac starts, the radio turns on, but the car won't turn over. The windows won't return to their full up position. I am wondering if this is a pure battery problem oby decay - Main Forum
Well, the most annoying thing about that valet commercial is that they give the valet the keys, and tell them its the Buick. What do you need the valet for if you have your own keys? Walk the 30 feet to your crapcan ride, and leave the teenager alone.by decay - Main Forum

So, I get in the car last night, and no sound is coming out of the radio/cd player/iPod. The buttons are intermittently unresponsive (PCM 3). However, bluetooth works fine, and sound comes out from the speakers when making a call. I turned it off, let it sit until the internal short term functions were no longer available, and restarted. Same thing. Everything shows up on the console, like tby decay - Main Forum
