I've been getting a fast clicking sound emanating from the Start Lock Relay in the trunk of my '99 986. This happens when I turn the ignition key from on to off (the engine does not have to have been running). I've replaced the relay with a new one but am still getting that clicking. (when I remove the relay and turn the key from on to off, I don't get the clicking, so yes, I'm sure it's the Sby LocoDriver - Main Forum
Thanks you so much, Pedro. Knowing how far in I had to push the clip was a big help. I got the barrel out, installed the new steering lock assembly, and successfully put the lock barrel back into the new part. Everything works great now. Thanks again. --- Tomby LocoDriver - Main Forum
In my '99 986, I'm in the process of replacing/upgrading the ignition switch/lock mechanical & electrical components (the new part will arrive on Tuesday). I've got the steering lock housing out of the car but am unable to get the key lock barrel out of the housing. I've got a set of Hawk Blue 9012 Race Pads #HB289E.610 for a 1997-2004 non-S Boxster front. Hawk's description: "Medium/High torque and temperature compound with excellent brake modulation. #1 selling brake pad material for SCCA." They were used for 2 DE runs in the rain on the Lightning track at NJMP so they're almost new. I bought these at the track but would like to continue to use the Paby LocoDriver - Parts for Sale
