Great photos. Love the Karmann Ghia - timeless design - looks as great today as it did more than a half-century ago.by Roger987 - Main Forum
QuoteGary in SoFL Seems an inelegant solution to save a few bucks, but let us know how it works out for you. Now, that is powerful talk, coming, as it does, from the person who, single-handedly, has taken boorishness to a whole new level. Cheers.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Congratulations, Mike, on acquiring the ultimate Porsche! It has all the right stuff - the big 4 litre naturally aspirated engine, manual transmission, PASM, unequaled Porsche mid-engine handling, all wrapped up in a spectacular, and very rare, package.by Roger987 - Main Forum

Congratulations, Mike on your spectacular new Boxster GTS 4.0 25 Year Anniversary LIMITED EDITION. WHAT A CAR !!!!. And what a delivery experience ! Once-in-a-lifetime, indeed. For both you and Chris. An unforgettable memory. Your 987S served you well, and vice versa. If there was ever a time for a successor, this is it. And the 'purrfect' successor it is. Porsche does indeed have quite a few stunning blues in their palette. Although grouped by colour, they aren't listed alphabetically. But them going through them, one by one, is part of the fun, isn't it? (And yes, Aga, and Ocean, are both there. ) Enjoy!by Roger987 - Main Forum
Gorgeous. Thanks for posting. It will be interesting to see how the cab will look. The 911's coupe's lines have always been so much more handsome than those of the cab.by Roger987 - Main Forum

Likewise, if I lived in a lived in a urban setting and had to drive our 981 in traffic on a daily basis, the PDK would probably be a better choice. Quotejg wnc 1. This certainly drops my interest in ever doing a lap at the ‘Ring with all the traffic 2. The Lambo driver is an ass. He should have moved over. Oh well, he owns a Lambo! 3. I like the way the cars being passed signaled where they were going - mostly keeping right. Seems like a good idea and would be useful at DE’s as it allows drivers to keep hands on the wheel. QuoteGary in SoFL Even Pedro should like the lines It's 'only' a PDK No question.... everything else being equal, a PDK equipped Porsche is quicker around a race track. But, for the apparently very few (tongue firmly in cheek) who spend most of their Porsche driving time NOT on a track, the speed of PDK shifts is of no consequence. "All the communication devices are there." Yup, they are - THREE pedals, MANual shifter, 3.4 litres of mid-engined, naturally aspirated, flat-6 splendor, PSE, PASM, Porsche Torque Vectoring and, at long last, a proper steering wheel. Ask and ye shall receive: Oh - that rod capped by a round ball thingy emerging from the leather boot - that's the increasing rare (now endangered) species known as the 'manual shift lever'. You'll spot an extra red bit in the photo below, Gman. QuoteGuenter in Ontario I like the look - much better than the stock 981 wheel. New wheels? New exterior enhancements? New mechanical performance/handling bits? New interior pieces? Or maybe even new driving shoes? For my 981S, replaced ughly standard 981 steering wheel with a one-off custom Porsche Sport Design. It will be..... interesting. It's said 'a change is as good as a rest'. Lots of time to rest way down the road. A change sounds like a far better idea. I'm digging back into my memory - had you owned a couple Boxsters over the years?by Roger987 - Main Forum
Marc, your participation on this Board, and the advice, and insights, you've offered have been exceptional. I wish you all the very best, and hope you'll stick around. I think Pedro's 'rules' allow for some flexibility - I'd be delighted if you were to give us updates from time to time, on your new cars. I'm lost. You wrote 'I will hold it against the dealer'. Is your exposure limited to $198, and the dealer is going to eat the cost of fixing the problem?by Roger987 - Main Forum
A blown engine from an IMS bearing failure would cost you easily 3 to 7 times that amount, depending whether the replacement was new, or tired. So... think of it this way - you have $10k left over for Xmas. db997s recently paid $8k for a tune-up, oil, brakes, and tires. And the dealer didn't even buy him dinner/wine first. Hmmm.... Even when I try to set aside my aversion to change, I still have trouble with that new dash/console. But those photos may not be accurate. For instance, take a look at this, starting at around 30 seconds. And is Porsche slowly reducing the front fender hump? With the 981, Porsche lowered it, but added some defining creases. And please don't take this the wrong way. If you want to know what Raby means..... ASK RABY. HE is the only person who can tell you what he means. Now, will he respond? Probably not. And if he did respond, it would be in the form of some incomprehensible gobbledygook which no one could understand. Depends on the size of the dog (not just weight). The airbag must be turned off, no ifs, ands or buts. And a good harness must be attached to the seat belt receptacle. Basically, do as you would if it were a child (aside from the baby seat).by Roger987 - Main Forum
