Drive the car and get it good and warmed up. I've experienced leaks after long storage and after a few good heat cycles found that they went away.by Wayne K - Main Forum
QuoteEd B Hi, -17F this morning, with chill factor of - 35F. Frostbite in 5 to 10 minutes. Last night it was - 44F on mt. Washington with a chill factor of -103F. No mosquitos, though. Ed You made me laugh with the " no mosquitos" comment. Hope things warm up for you. I'm from WI so know what cold and mosquitos are all about.by Wayne K - Main Forum
I would like to purchase one that can check for over revs and also be able to connect to laptop so a report can be printed.by Wayne K - Main Forum
I thought I should respond so others would know what the cause was for the sticky transfer. On both sides of the plastic window are wide bonding strips that cover the vertical seams of the inner top. Over time they had become sticky and the sticky was transferring to the cloth inner top liner. When putting the top down the liner would rest on the outer edges of the window transferring the sticby Wayne K - Main Forum
Has anyone noticed their cloth liner getting sticky and when top is down it marks up about 2" of the sides of the rear window? I felt the backsides of the liner in that aera and it is getting sticky from something.by Wayne K - Main Forum
QuoteCarreraLicious That’s amazing you got that much life out of the clutch Pedro! I only got 76k out of my Boxster’s clutch until it started to slip although I did have the car parked in a NYC garage for a number of years where I could see the valets hold the car on an up ramp in the garage using the clutch several times while smelling burned clutch. What do you say about holding the clutchby Wayne K - Main Forum
If size matters from your picture it looks like the knob on the new one is larger than the original. If I read your post right I recall reading that resting your hand on the shift lever while driving is not a good practice. I would vote for installing the brake too.by Wayne K - Main Forum
Looking at possibly purchasing a second Boxster for DE use. It is a 2000 S. It has had 3 previous owners. Current owner doesn't know if it is a posi transaxle. We had the back end jacked up so I could do an underside inspection. I had him start it up and put it in gear. Both rear wheels turned in the same direction. I think this would indicate the it has a posi as my Mustang does the same.by Wayne K - Main Forum
You are correct. As long as it fits the socket making correct contact and the socket is live at all times it should work properly in any vehicle with a 12 volt system.by Wayne K - Main Forum
What size drill bit and was hole drilled dead center through the pipe opening. Could you post a link to the sound clip?by Wayne K - Main Forum
Thanks for the reply Pedro. When pushing the clutch pedal down the slave piston forces the pushrod out so when you open the slave valve the clutch forces the pushrod back in which causes the fluid to expel from the slave. Is that correct? Do you think the same would apply for the E46 BMW? It also has just one line going to the slave from the master.by Wayne K - Main Forum
Before reading Pedro's DIY on brake and clutch fluid change I never pushed the clutch in when changing the fluid using a Motive pressure bleeder. I don't understand why it would make any difference as I always got fluid out of the slave connection either way. I acquired an E46 BMW that I am wanting to do a brake and clutch flush and am wondering if that needs to have the clutch peddle pushed toby Wayne K - Main Forum
Could be this road. It is the last stretch of road from Gill Rock to the boat landing to go to Washington Island in Door Co WI. I've driven it many times with different cars. You can catch air in some spots. Not very long but a hoot going in either direction.by Wayne K - Main Forum
Do you know the location?by Wayne K - Main Forum
I was doing some reading on Rennlist GT3 forum regarding a small rubber house that is known to burst on the fuel pump. Does anyone know if that is an issue of concern with a 2002 Boxster S?by Wayne K - Main Forum
Last year when visiting Las Vegas I stopped in at Renegade Hybrids. They do LS motor conversions on Porsche cars. I saw a 911 and a Cayman that had the conversion done. They looked like they came from the factory that way. The LS motor is a smaller package than the Ford so from the outside the only way to tell is when the thing starts up.by Wayne K - Main Forum
Quotedennisafrompa I just got the buy back numbers for my 4 year old Jetta Sportwagon TDI. $16,950 for the car. $6,376 damages. $1000. good will package. $24,326 total. This for a car that new sold to me for $26,839 four years and 34,000 miles ago. I'm happy with the buyout program. I wish every car I had would cost me only $2,513 over 48 months or so. QuoteLaz At this link; second from left. Funny; the Saab fitment was exactly the size for the 912: 165-15. (Being Photobucket, you might have to allow cookies, and/or reload the linked page.) Tried without any luck to see if there is a VW or Audi part that will work for Porsche part # 996 606 203 02. It is an oil pressure sensor for the oil pressure gauge. Any help is appreciated.by Wayne K - Main Forum

Thanks. I did know that you could get the whole kit but was wondering if anyone could supply just the one for the drivers side roll bar.by Wayne K - Main Forum
Does anyone know if the attachment point plastic pieces that are riveted to the roll bar hoops can be purchased separately? I just got of the phone with my local Porsche dealer and they didn't have a clue. Said I should bring it in and show them what I was looking for.by Wayne K - Main Forum
Had some time to look at this on the weekend. Battery voltage before cranking with fuse removed to disable from starting was 12.6. Cranking voltage dropped to 10.8. When stopped cranking battery voltage came back up to 12,5 in about 4 seconds. Repeated this 6 times with same results. I then bumped the starter to try and find a dead stop. Could not find one. I'm thinking from sitting a longby Wayne K - Main Forum
So if I'm getting this right besides the battery the starting system consists of the ignition switch, the interlock switch, a starter relay, the starter solenoid, and the starter itself. Where is the starter relay located and how can I determine if it is bad? Is the solenoid connected to the starter or elsewhere?by Wayne K - Main Forum
Could the clutch pedal switch cause the same symptoms?by Wayne K - Main Forum
Thanks. I will report my findings. Current temps in my garage are about 55 degrees. Do you think it is really necessary to have the engine at operarating temp to do the cranking test? I am also going to try it on the Boxster to have something to compare to. Both have the same battery in them and they both had the same results on the voltage and load test.by Wayne K - Main Forum
This weekend I had a chance to check battery condition. Voltage showing 12.7. Load test in OK zone and battery recoverd to 12.7 after load test. I backed off the nut on the battery to chassis ground and wiggled it several times and tightened it back up. There are no signs of corrosion at the battery and it's ground. Looks to me like the battery and ground are good. I will next test the starteby Wayne K - Main Forum
