What's the vent? Does the diehard have it?by kosiba - Main Forum
My 2000 Boxster S has a dead battery. I'm going to ask dumb questions. What is different about Porsche batteries- can't I just run the dead one over to sears and replace it with the appropriate die hard? What is "venting"? Are there any tricks associated with the swap? Sincere thanks.by kosiba - Main Forum
Naaa- I live in DC and want the top down in the spring. One of the things I've learned-- I am NOT a coupe person. Are there convertibles that would do well in the snow?by kosiba - Main Forum
Hi All-- I'm in the market for a second car-- to drive in the winter when salt on the ground. Here are some requirements: 1) Convertible 2) Safe (my kid will get behind the wheel at some point) 3) Stick 4) Decent in the snow 5) Used-- about $25K Anybody have any suggestions??by kosiba - Main Forum

Bad week for my tires. Kuhmo Ecsta ASX tires, last weekend, the back left tire (1 year old, maybe 6K miles on them) is low in air, and I assume a slow leak. I take tire off and it is shredded on the inside. Go to Tire Rack and order two rear tires yesterday. Bummer. Then this morning, I see the following little bulge in the front tire. So my question is: is this tire ruined too? http:by kosiba - Main Forum
Come to think of it, isn't it funny that Porsche decided to put in glass rear windows? Ever hear of the plastic cracking? Ever wonder why?by kosiba - Main Forum
But top down should help the air conditioners run easier. When the buildup of cabin pressure gets too high, the fans have to push harder and harder. Also, if you drive too long with the fans (especially the defroster) going full-bore, it could increase the pressure in the cabin so the tops may "pop" and buckle. I'd expect that would be expensive to fix. Best practice is to crackby kosiba - Main Forum
That is a bunch of BS, AS2003. How can you get fewer MPG when the top is down!?! Clearly the top weighs 30-50 pounds, and when you remove that extra weight with the top down your mileage would go UP, not down.by kosiba - Main Forum
I have a 2000 s, and will try and post pictures of the top I had installed last summer. I forget the brand. But other than getting used to the smaller window the glass is pretty cool. Looks nice too.by kosiba - Main Forum
I typically get 42 on the highway with top up, 37 with windstop (consistent 5MPG improvement), 26 without. But I have one of those cool mpg devices: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Acura-TSX-NSX-RSX-Intake-Gas-Kit-Increase-Air-Flow-Cool-Engine-Add-MPG-HP-/230767177284?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr&hash=item35bacbae44by kosiba - Main Forum

Hi All- Had a great weekend with the car- polished and waxed it, cleaned out the interior, made it all shiny. Looks awesome. 2000 Bxster S, 80K miles. I start the car this morning and am backing the car out, and the check engine light starts flashing. It took me a sec to realize, and I pull it back into the garage. By the time I am back in, the light is no longer flashing. When I getby kosiba - Main Forum
Hi All- I've a 2000 S, and the brake warning light has just gone on. A few questions: How long can I drive before doing much damage? A buddy, who 20 years ago worked at a shop has offered to swap the pads out-- is the Boxster any different brake-wise than most other cars? What sort of pads are long lasting (lower dust is a plus) and where do I get them? I haven't posted much- but viby kosiba - Main Forum
Boxterra- How do you hook an adapter to the Becker?? Ricby kosiba - Main Forum
OK- I've been looking for the iphone fix for the boxster- something that would let me play apps (mostly stitcher radio) in the car and have hands free calling. Chatting with stereo guys and they all said to get a blue tooth radio with streaming audio- so no connection needs to be made to the car, no hardwire. Looking at stereos, and most are gaudy and flashy... love the look of the nakamichiby kosiba - Main Forum
