Sounds like a nice idea muting under a certain speed. I have a 2009 C2S.... any compatibility issues? Seems worth it to me... My vintage circa 2000 unit is giving me some troubles with laser falsing so much I can't use it at night... about $50 to repair or $279 for an upgraded unit - upgrade costs differ by serial number. Quoteyellowesty Which begs the question, "Where does the Boxster fit?" I really don't like where this is leading me. It is going to a competitor. I enjoy my 2009 C2S but it is no longer a sports car. As I think Jeremy Clarkson called it something like.... "A car for fat balding....". Well maybe just a bit extreme but there is no doubt about it, it is bigger, heavier, and number. QuotegrantI'd love to have access to a large parking lot just covered with maybe 2" of packed, cold, snow. what a car control clinic! Back in Western PA, a very depressed part of the US, the local mall doesn't bother plowing the back parking lots anymore. I had a ball one Xmas a few years back in my Boxster. Just a ball! QuoteTrygve (Oakland, CA) Just a couple of possible caveats/pros/cons on those..... Thanx so much Trygve, good points all... I am interested in the EM06 model that does not require the air compressor... the EM06 does have safety dog ratchets. The Canadian site for this equipment has better descriptions and pictures. This one looks like a winner. Drive on!!! No clearance problems!!! Any experience with this "Atlas" brand? $1500 plus shipping. Pete posted he owns the model up from the one I am posting and it was a 7,000 lb unit and required an additional compressed air system for safety locks. This "one model down" looks fine.... So far..... this appears the best to suite my needs... The only thing Iby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
Ok, my 50-something back is winning the war..... I need a lift... or more accurately, would like one. Lotsa stuff out there...... Questions: 1 - What is the real ground clearance of a 992.2 C2S with PASM? My owners' manual denotes that clearance is 4.33" at max gross weight. Really? Anyone with real experience here? 2 - Anyone with BendPak experience? I really like the $1995 MD-6XP w/hydraulicsby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
Just curious about my 2009 C2S engine..... were these things raced? Not club etc, but pro. What were the mods or varients to this if they were.... where can I find and read about this type of stuff? Peace Bruce in Phillyby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
Hmmm... I just noticed.... the water temp rise is really linear..... it doesn't seem to be affected by revs. Higher revs would generate more heat. It also doesn't seem to be affected by vehicle speed either as faster movement runs cold air over the radiators. I posted this over on the other 997 board.... 2009 C2S Coupe Manual I am getting bogus oil temp values and I am not sure which item to select to get a good read. Any help here? Also, can I pull my gear number and what Dura parameter (manual box)? You have to know someone, but this auction pricing is the floor as any dealer will dump at auction before selling you lower than this. Another way is through a "broker" that buys at auction for a standard mark up price usually between $1K and $3K. The other way, as I did it, is to do tons of research online, and then wait until the end of January or beginning of February and focus on sellers whby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
I like it.... it is more precise, mechanical and I can feel the mechanisms more. Is this worth it? I dunno, it was a fun project and I can play with it every day so yea, it was worth it. If these things don't mean much to you, it is not worth it at all. Pedro, regarding adjustments.... I don't understand how this thing is good or bad for engagement. I really don't. I was down in Brazil about 5 years ago.... they run on nat gas. In the US, all the big trucking companies placed long-term orders for nat gas engines from Cummins and Ford. Stop in at any truck stop and they they have nat gas fueling either already installed or in the process. Since fracking took off, the price of gas as tumbled making the appeal even greater. Ah, you have me reminiscing about my younger days when cars were designed to fall apart the moment warranty lapsed, and I had no money. Remember starting ether? Ms Ether was my closest friend. Peace Bruce in Phillyby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum
I even spent over $100 a couple times....... all crap. The biggest ripoffs were the Jawbones.... I owned two of these pieces of crap. Jawbones are marketing driven by people who know how stupid consumers are when it comes to buying.... stupid consumer will always buy something that is cooler than another perfectly good item. How about that for conspiracy theory!!! That car was a Boxster..... they were way too similar to be positioned next to each other. I think they were just market testing the next Boxster with a smaller engine. Acceptance of a four cylinder engine... etc. Pedro, your excitement just confirmed acceptance of the smaller engine. These things eat control arms. The noise, if a clunk, manifests itself mostly while driving slowly through parking lots with undulating surfaces. You would think hard bumps do it, but you really only ear it when road noise is really low. Common, no big deal and pretty easy to replace yourself. The issue really is positive ID of the bad control arm but it is most likely that lateral arm. My lby Bruce In Philly (2000 S Boxster, now '09 C2S) - Main Forum

QuoteRoger987 The paint on the DB2 Mark lll is gorgeous. I wonder sometimes if these cars aren't actually better than what came out of the factory. These owners have Bucket's O' Money and they do whatever it takes to make them fantastic. Regardless, I love seeing these cars. Growing up as a teenager on the PA/Ohio border back when we seemed to have a ton of snow, icy roads, lousy snow tires, no traction control, and as much beer as we could steal, I was pretty darn good at drifting.
