Good steering response, firm ride, mostly quiet, great in the wet. Got a deal on them through Costco in the spring for $700 mounted and balanced +tax. I still have them on (I have a winter set of rims set with Blizzaks on them) since I'd like to see how they handle some snow; I saw a test video on Youtube with these tires in the snow and they were amazing. Depending on how they work out in the snby MikenOH - Main Forum
let's see--the 2025 718 will: -Weight 3659 lbs -One speed tranny -Have an estimated 250 mile range -Retain the folding cloth top -Produce no natural exhaust noise Performance figures are unknown as is the price. I haven't read anything yet about it that would make me get one, even on a straight trade.by MikenOH - Main Forum
Boxster and Cayman models. Notices going out by 11/1. Does anyone know what this part looks like?by MikenOH - Main Forum
I've driven by their shop a few times but never taken a car there to be worked on. They sell a lot of used imports and by the look of the cars on their lot, a fair number of exotics. I haven't seen a lot of Porsches on their lot. If it where me, I'd take it to a shop that is familiar with the 986 model--Steinels and Layland should be able to handle it. I have had good luck with Steinels, Layland (Canton) Porsche Beachwood. Autobahn Extremist is on the Cleveland westside, but I have no experience with them.by MikenOH - Main Forum

Quotejlegelis Roadtrip! What better way to enjoy a new 981, isn't that what it was built for? Take the 'blue highways' rather than the interstates for the drive of a lifetime.\ +1by MikenOH - Main Forum

QuoteGary in SoFL Quotefrogster QuoteKinnick4Ever Ordering one from scratch makes great sense but doing so now is nigh impossible. Sigh. are you saying that the dealers aren't taking orders? Many of them are more than happy to take your order and your deposit, but very few of them have actual allocations and commission numbers, in hand.Covid induced short supply, and inability to obtain neededby MikenOH - Main Forum
Quotejg wnc I read a recent review of the 4.0 that mentioned there is no way to use all that power on the street. Do you plan to track the car at all? 981 prices are holding up pretty well, but realize that the dealer will be buying the trade in at wholesale. If your trade is nice you could sell it yourself. I'd guess from prices I've seen on the internet that a 2013 BS should sell in the $4by MikenOH - Main Forum
QuoteKeithF Not sure how solid my information is but I'm hearing that cars delivered to customer (about 20 cars) will get new engines. The other 170 cars will get new connecting rods installed by dealer or in port. These numbers are for North America. I think the world wide total of affected cars is about 800. Allocations for the 4.0 liter cars have been hard to get and dealer inventory is neby MikenOH - Main Forum
With 95K miles, that car looks great. We also had a '99'--5/99 production--and the car ran like a clock for 6 years till we traded it. IIRC, the 97-99 models had a different IMS bearing setup--two bearing? It changed with the 2001 model when they went to one bearing which ran till 2005.by MikenOH - Main Forum
QuoteBlack Knight I've had good experience with Continental Extreme contact sport tires. They compare well with traction and ride to the Michelins and get lots of good reviews online. I have pushed them quite a bit and then can handle spirited driving with no problems. +1. An excellent summer tire that can handle the cooler weather in spring and fall. Smooth ride, lots of grip and wet weather tby MikenOH - Main Forum
Congratulations! Sounds like a very nice car. The new tires/pads/rotors suggest you'll be able to drive this for a few years without shelling out significant $'s in maintenance costs. Have fun with it!by MikenOH - Main Forum
It started for my wife and I 25 years ago at a new car show in Cleveland. At the Porsche display, the concept car was on display and it resonated with both of us. At the time my wife had just picked up a '96' corvette to go with our Miata and while great fun, it fell victim to GM/s poor QC at the time and lack of customer support. We started looking in the summer 0f '99' for a Boxster and foundby MikenOH - 10 years of PB
We had our 981 out for a top down drive today also. From the today's extended forecast, it looks like we are just about done with 70 deg. days around here until next year.by MikenOH - Main Forum
Great pic. Two cars with great lines. The TR still looks good after 40+ years. BTW, my first sports car was a TR6 in Pimento red. Too bad they weren't using galvanized steel back then...by MikenOH - Main Forum
It works well and we have it on 2 cars. These are partial applications--lower half of hood, rocker panels door edges and front facia. After nearly 8 years, the BS is nearly chip free and that is with numerous track days.by MikenOH - Main Forum
From the article: While the T can't match the GT4 for sheer performance, it comes impressively close. The T hits 60 mph in 4.4 seconds to the GT4's 3.7-second run. I went to the Porsche site and they had the 0-60 time at around 5 seconds--plenty fast, but at more than a 1/2 second faster, I wonder if C&D's old test tricks are at work with these numbers. Over the years they've come up with sby MikenOH - Main Forum
QuoteLaz • Throwout bearing? • Low on gear oil, or wrong viscosity? You may be on the right track regarding the differential. I've had 4 cars over the years that have had a Ring/Pinion issues--for some reason--and the sound was always a high pitched whine on light throttle. Nothing on acceleration or deceleration.by MikenOH - Main Forum
I just had a conversation with our dealer on 40K servicing and the tank module came up. Warranty will cover it supposedly. No details on what was going on to prompt the repair were given.by MikenOH - Main Forum
For what it's worth, the tire wear on both my track tires and street tires have been very even despite having the x-73 sport suspension with camber settings at -1.7 front and -1.9 rear. Toe is nearly zero in front and just a bit in at the rear.by MikenOH - Main Forum
QuotePedro (Odessa, FL) ... now if you. Ojos get rid of the front plate, it would be perfect. So happy we don’t have them in Florida. Happy. Boxstering Pedro Great pic, Laz. Regarding the front plate, I've always hated how it messed up the look of the front bumper. Thankfully, they've just changed the law in OH so that residents won't need to have a front plate starting 7/1. Time for bumperby MikenOH - Main Forum
