but if the part that turns is off when you put it in, it won't work right. Less likely to happen twice but not impossible. As I said, you may be right.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
but it's worth noting that improper installation of the electrical portion may also result in this symptom.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
how did you arrive at the conclusion you needed the whole housing?by Boxsterra - Main Forum
obviously there are parts that can break after 3 years but 3 years will cover a lot of issues since it's not really a wear item.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
all of these jobs get much easier with experience. You learn which steps are needed or helpful. And you learn from your mistakes. If you're working on your own car (depending on where you are), you replace corroded bolts and stuck parts. One morning I installed the transmission and exhaust then realized that I had forgotten some stuff. So I took it off, fixed the stuff, and put it back on. No bigby Boxsterra - Main Forum
Taking the transmission out is not that much work and getting the engine out with the tranny out is much easier. He underplayed the difficulty of getting the clutch and flywheel out with the transmission still installed.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I have had so many things hit the bottom of my car, I can loosen one of the shield retaining nuts and it just falls apart. Easy!by Boxsterra - Main Forum
to turn on and off the sensor so that the light doesn't flash. So sometimes the light stays on after sensors are replaced. But if it doesn't go off eventually then likely one of the sensors is bad or not properly connected. The circuit just measures continuity, which you can do yourself with a continuity tester on each wheel to narrow down the problem. You don't even have to remove the wheels toby Boxsterra - Main Forum
When the pad wears down to the sensor wire, the wire wears down. Before the wire is worn all the way through the brake wear light may come on and go off intermittently. To fix it you can either solder the wire back together or replace the sensor. The sensors aren't very expensive and are easy to replace.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
At 160k miles mine still had 30% left. If you're looking to hasten it, I recommend resting your left foot on the clutch pedal while driving.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
You can turn the stereo on and off by voice. But you have to prefix your command with the word "Porsche" and you have to pronounce it the correct American/English way, with one syllable.by Boxsterra - Main Forum

which would be a common problem. I recommend cleaning the area then checking again later. The source of the leak will be more obvious. (Also if you have another pic that would help)by Boxsterra - Main Forum
That's just a proprietary plug. When you buy the unit you tell them what car you have and they provide a wiring harness adapter, which plugs into that port. The one I linked connects to the CAN bus, among other things.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Starts on the passenger side but that's not the part I'm referring to. It crosses into the engine compartment and makes a diagonal left and connects to the engine in the middle-ish, front-ish. It is possible that it's the oil cooler but I doubt it unless that was removed at some point. Definitely will be easier to tell after it was cleaned and run. Take pictures.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
What is the negative to a big fixed screen? You will not need to mount your phone in this case because you can mirror the cell phone screen on the bigger, easier to access built-in unit. You cannot possibly tell me that your blackberry buttons are as easy to access as 1" wide buttons and knobs that are on the Porsche unit. Cameras are cheap. You can clip one onto your front plat, back plate, orby Boxsterra - Main Forum
One common hard-to-see leak is the oil filler tube, which can crack on the underside (never seems to crack on the visible part). In this case you might even have a vacuum leak, which would manifest as high fuel trim at idle that corrects itself at higher RPM. You would know about that if your built-in entertainment system was also automatically logging your OBD-2 data.by Boxsterra - Main Forum
Joying makes several units that are popular with Porsche owners. A few of the many examples:by Boxsterra - Main Forum
I don't know what this unit has and there probably are things that don't immediately come to mind but here are a few: Bigger screen Stable mount Clean, factory look Physical buttons for common functions Camera views Radio (mainly for when internet isn't available) Hard wire to OBD-2 data what else?by Boxsterra - Main Forum

"The owner was in fact driving the car, and it was not stolen, the publication reported. In the video above, posted by CarsWithoutLimits, Chen appears to have gone very sideways and ended up plowing the front of the Mirage GT into a Toyota Sienna minivan. The crash bonanza didn’t end there, though; he tried to flee despite significant damage to the Mirage GT and ended up crashing into several mby Boxsterra - Main Forum
With a car of that age you might be starting to get some clogs in the lifter oil channels. But that would make a ticking sound on cold start, not so much a clunking sound. Maybe record the sound? If it is lifters you can try running some lifter additive. Note that there are a few different types that have opposite effects (definitely don't want one of the ones that increases viscosity).
