but, ouch! $5.59 picture hostby SMILIN - Main Forum
everything i’ve tried (very limited) also works on a 2016 boxster. i could not find overrev in for a 2021.by SMILIN - Main Forum
howdy. i hope you’re well, despite having gained a few years. seems to happen to many of us what a privilege! i attended petit lemans in 2005…a special trip to hang with everyone’s favorite photographer. it was a great trip: great host, beautiful venue, and an amazing event for photography. i’ve got several prints from that event hanging in my garage. hard to believe that it was 16 yearby SMILIN - Main Forum
seem to be the same. the walmart bottle does list A40/porsche on the back. that’s what i buy for my 981. for your amusement, i use 15w-50 mobil 1 “regular” full syn in my 151k mile 986…just because it’s all i ever used. if i move to 0w-40 euro, i’m afraid i’ll spring a dozen leaks. valid concern? fyi, i’m in sacramento area…hot summers, low of 32 winters…1-2k miles per year/by SMILIN - Main Forum
I think the 981 base/S/GTS/GT4 maintenance is all about the same...and primarily use-driven. (Other than dancing around the harness bar.) I can't answer for sure, so I thought I'd throw in the dog pictureby SMILIN - Main Forum
howdy. i’d suggest rennlist, which has a 981 technical forum, and a gt4 sub-forum. for fun, after almost 24 years with my 986, i have a new passenger-in-training. she did great! but i’m keeping the car protected a while longer (getting color matched towel and tape)by SMILIN - Main Forum
wow! she’s gonna go another 300! i’m only 1/2 way there…a minor refresh at 150 last yearby SMILIN - Main Forum
you are right - there are many amazing places to drive with the top down. i've done the glacier/yellowstone/grand teton loop a couple of times in recent years...in a minivan! on the most recent trip is when i got the call that the dealer had a spyder allocation for me. even before that call, my mind was overwhelmed with thoughts of driving a boxster on those roads. my friend and i plan to maby SMILIN - Main Forum
thanks. i've said it before, and said it again while doing it....yosemite is THE place for top-down cruising. there are no appropriate places to go fast...so you go slow and soak in the place. it's just stunning and a boxster/spyder is a great way to experience it. just don't park under any tall trees. the written documentation lists 2000miles/3000km for break in. i read that a lot like theby SMILIN - Main Forum
i find it helpful. with the 986 2.5L, i never (thought that i) needed it, because you HAVE to be in the right gear, else you have no umph. i find it easy to know which gear you're in just based on the feel and sounds of the car. with the GTS 3.4L and Spyder 4.0L, both with 6 speed, there is such a huge overlap in gearing and enough torque that you can often be in 2nd, 3rd or 4th and get away wby SMILIN - Main Forum
due to heavy smoke and highway closures for the past month, vacation, and local road construction, it’s taken a lot longer than expected, but i finally made it to yosemite and hit 1000 miles. break in is done! and although i haven’t yet hit redline, and the air quality was poor for most of the trip, i can emphatically state that i love this car!by SMILIN - Main Forum
be careful, someone may want to take you up on this.by SMILIN - Main Forum
while you can buy my 2021 spyder for $200k, the better deal would be to buy my 2016 boxster gts for just $100k! basically the same car, just without the goofy humps! and in beautiful sapphire blue metallic. ok, ok, one of them has to go…i’ll sell whichever goes first at these pricesby SMILIN - Main Forum
happy friday all! 7 days old...never too early, just difficult for her to drive from this position: a really big kid: she HAS figured out the proper driving position, but she entertains my photo requests well:by SMILIN - Main Forum
thank you. i am still pinching myself…can’t believe that it’s in my garage.by SMILIN - Main Forum
120 mile loop, to Tahoe and back. My wife likes it! A few thoughts comparing my '98 986, '16 981 GTS and '21 Spyder: The Spyder ROCKS! The GTS ROCKS! The 986 ROCKS! I think I'll be selling the GTS, but I love it so. We'll see. Ride - The GTS and Spyder are always in PASM sport/firm, and I find the ride is great...even on mild bumps. The 986 is on H&R/B6 and is much more harsh. The Spyderby SMILIN - Main Forum
interesting. when do you think they made the change on showing the temp? the interior is nice. as nice (to me) as i could get it with the standard offerings. i’m seemingly rare in that i like the mouse fur on the seats and door cards, but if i had my druthers, i’d go for something like the 000 package…two tone, black dash, brown and black interior with nice aniline leather instead of the pby SMILIN - Main Forum

Incredible job on full wrap PPF, ceramic and tint at Appearance Solutions in Sacramento. Exceeded my very high expectations. It’s my neighbor’s birthday, so he got the first ride. Apologies for having the top up…hot and weird weather today. I haven’t seen this angle before, looking slightly down on the car…and i love it! I’ll add some interior pics soon. I’m up to 102 milesby SMILIN - Main Forum
i’m planning to keep my ‘98 forever. dreaming of a home where i can park the car in the living room as art when not driving itby SMILIN - Main Forum
I agree. They've been a good supporter/partner to the local PCA region for a LONG time and the entire staff is top notch. I bought my '98 from Don and Gus. I was a regular consumer of warranty services for the first few years, and I'd say hi when in. Fast forward 20 years and I ran into Gus (retired) at a Taycan launch event..."Doug...how are you my friend." I was impressed...I'm not that meby SMILIN - Main Forum
that's probably a better answer than what I was going to suggest...to increase downforce (or is that to decrease lift)by SMILIN - Main Forum
