Unless you're driving where their use is illegal, get the Valentine 1. A friend who's tried them all swears buy it. Once you've had the arrows, you'll never go back to anything else. All the GPS bells and whistles the other guys are hyping are largely irrelevant. What you need is a detector that gives you ample warning and tells you where the bogies are and how many. The V-1 does that in spades.by Roger987 - Main Forum

Less than ideal perhaps, but not uncommon.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Like the front air intakes. Not wild about the side intakes (prefer the current). !00% with Guenter on the mirrors. Maybe the production car will have nicer ones. These are clearly a step back from the very handsome current mirrors. The headlights and tail lights appear to be masked in the photos. From the article, it sounds as though Boxsters will continue to benefit, even more perhaps, fromby Roger987 - Main Forum
I note that the new Cayman R has 330 horsepower. That's substantial by almost any measure, and is 90 more than my 2005 987 !!by Roger987 - Main Forum
so as to impress his buddies with the wheelspin? WE wouldn't do that, would we?by Roger987 - Main Forum
The main character, a prosperous business man (Ben Affleck) is seen driving his obviously expensive sports car, referred to by his wife (for the enlightened viewers) as a 'Porsche'. Which model was used to portray success? A Boxster, of course. (Arctic Silver 987, non-S). I was watching the movie at home with my g/f and missed the first few minutes (during which Affleck is seen driving the carby Roger987 - Main Forum
+ 1 for Burg's method. To facilitate getting the jack under the rear end, I've made two ramps 3 inches high using bevelled 2x10's about 18" long. Drive the back wheels onto the ramps first, then follow Burg's procedure.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Pedro, I think your Boxster went well over 100k miles (maybe well more) without an IMS failure. And I can't quite recall, but Marc W may have a pretty large number on his as well, without failure. Yet, some are reported to have failed with relatively low miles, Seems as though it's a roll of the dice. If my IMS lasts as many miles as Pedro's, it likely won't fail within the next 15 years, giveby Roger987 - Main Forum
The 'revised' version is also there, and is ... ahem... somewhat profane and also... quite funny.by Roger987 - Main Forum

I wasn't sure whether, when the top is down, there's room underneath for the golf clubs. In my Boxster, I have to remove the driver and woods from the bag, and while I can then fit them in the trunk, it's easier to simply put them in the passenger compartment. We have yet to hear from Abe's replacement as to how his new (to him) Boxster performs. I don't think we've seen photos yet. Last I read,by Roger987 - Main Forum
That would be tellin'. Betcha one of those 2006 Arctic Silver's with chrome tailpipes and 18" wheels could do it, too.by Roger987 - Main Forum
With the windscreen installed and side windows up, how does cabin turbulence compare with the Boxster with the windstop in place? Does the 911 windscreen mess with rear seat storage utility? Where do you place your golf bag in the 911 Cab? Does the 911 feel a bit less toss-able and nimble than the Boxster? Is the ride smoother? Incidentally, a good friend with a 2005 987 reports that the speedby Roger987 - Main Forum
I would try that, except my Boxster is locked away in winter storage for the next 4 months ( I should have mentioned that in my original post), so I was hoping someone here whose car isn't in storage might be able to try it out.by Roger987 - Main Forum
It's a DIY project, with great results.by Roger987 - Main Forum
One solution, if the car is going to be left unattended for a while with all one's travelling possessions in the trunk (for instance at a trail-head or a parking lot) might be to remove the fuse for the trunk locks. Although that would take less than a minute, it's a bit awkward, and depending on the weather, messy. A better solution would be a hidden switch (not in the trunks!) to interrupt tby Roger987 - Main Forum
Because I don't have access to my Boxster while it's in winter storage, I'll ask the question here. Once the car has been locked using the remote, if someone were to gain access to the interior (through the roof, or with one of those tools AAA guys use), would they then be able to open the trunks using the electric release lever, or would the button not function until the car is unlocked using tby Roger987 - Main Forum
many Boxster owners feel the best way to mount a front plate is with Velcro - attached deep inside the rear trunk.by Roger987 - Main Forum
It tides us over until the summer when we get to ride the real thing. Hey Guenter, do you still have the link for Porsche's superb Boxster test drive where the viewer could place himself in, or behind, the car. It was great.by Roger987 - Main Forum
Your logic is solid. Have you driven a Cooper S? From what I've read, they handle well, however on anything but smooth pavement, the ride is unduly harsh. More practical than a Boxster perhaps, but I wouldn't be surprised if ultimately you found you enjoy your Boxster more. You're in a good place. Marcby Roger987 - Main Forum
3 grand isn't chump change. Hope it gets sorted and rewards you with many more miles of permagrin. (you don't suppose the Boxster's upset about sharing the bedroom with your mistress, do you?)by Roger987 - Main Forum
Notice there was one guy who understood that a car can't be steered if the front wheels aren't turning? He's the guy who didn't mash the brakes, but, instead, steered his way around the carnage. Bravo!by Roger987 - Main Forum
(While I don't mind the look, I'd pass on the headaches.) OTOH, Mr. Spice's Porsche colour is simply tragic.by Roger987 - Main Forum
