Thanks guys. I'll check out RennTech and Excellence. Pedro, on re-recording the car, is that something that has to be done by the dealer, or can I do it with my Durametric?by jg wnc - Main Forum
On my 02S, the remote on one of the keys is pretty useless. Only the front trunk opening works reliably. Rear trunk opening is sporadic and door lock/unlock does not work at all. Since the front trunk works fine, it is not a battery problem, despite the 9-10 years of use. On opening it up, i found that the circuit board is in good shape. The problem is with the switches, which seem to have wby jg wnc - Main Forum
and had to carry the flat tire in a bag in the passenger's seat. Would not fit in the front storage. It might fit in the rear storage with some bungy cords to keep the lid from flopping about.by jg wnc - Main Forum
The first time, I had removed the assembly to work on something (don't remember what). I noticed that the wiring cable was wrapped strangely and I decided to clean things up and untangle it. When I went to re-insert the headlight, I could never get it to seat correctly and only some functions on the headlamp unit worked. I screwed with it for an hour and finally decided to rise the left frontby jg wnc - Main Forum

Can't help on the airbag light. Sorry.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I have taken MacPherson struts apart on other cars, but not the Boxster. Assuming the job is similar, the only special tool you will need is a spring compressor.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Hope our paths cross sometime in 2012!by jg wnc - Main Forum
If you want to do PLM, you can stay at our place and we could commute to the track together. I typically work on the start stand for a few days in the middle of the week, and then take the day of the race off to spectate.by jg wnc - Main Forum
located on passenger side of car near engine compartment vent on that side. Its for emissions and for some reason it seems to be more noticeable when it its cold out. It also runs at cold startup when it is warm.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Unfortunately they only stock 6 quarts at a time, so I have to go back and get the rest this week. Castrol has a $7 rebate on 5 quarts, so this works out to be a pretty good deal now.by jg wnc - Main Forum
If I understood what he told me, the lease is done through payroll deduction, but then the company reimburses for the lease cost at some point.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Without reading the link referenced above, I believe the 996 3.4 was an older engine with a throttle cable, and the 03 Boxster engine has a fly-by-wire throttle. I think that typically the first criteria for an engine swap is that you use the same throttle control mechanism. Thus I do not think the 3.4 will work in this case (at least not without rigging up a throttle cable). Look for a 3.6 enby jg wnc - Main Forum
You should fly right over the building on the north set of runways. The property is where the old Ford plant used to be and is currently a parking lot. IIRC that is one of the things that Porsche liked about the location. I have a buddy that was interviewing for a legal counsel position with PCNA who told me that the commute to the new location south of downtown will be ugly for most of theby jg wnc - Main Forum
Between the idiots on the road and the idiots in parking lots....... On the road, I am a careful and alert, but somewhat aggressive (but not overly aggressive). In parking lots, I am fortunate to be in good health and don't mind walking, so I park it as far away as possible from the masses and always try to find an end spot to that I reduce the possibility of door dings or damage by 50%. It was not the same as the one shown in the article - guess it was a slightly older body style. I don't remember how many gears the tranny had, but it was a paddle shifter and it was definitely not a dual clutch unit. You can see from the pic that it had the warm air outlet behind the neck which was kinda nice. It also had the mat gray paint job which seems to be a big thing in Europe. In facby jg wnc - Main Forum
Oh Yeah! It has torque. Tons of it. And it pulls and pulls through the gears. The tranny is the same as the tiptronic, so that is a consideration too. Though it is a bit heavy, it still handles reasonably well. If I scored the Boxster as a 9 in handling, I would give the SLK 55 a 7-8. What I did not like about the car was that it had very little storage, especially with the folding hard tby jg wnc - Main Forum

I was at an SCCA race at Road Atlanta. The Mille was at Atlanta Motor Speedway - way south of town. I have not heard a thing about about it here locally. We did have fabulous weather here on Sunday.by jg wnc - Main Forum

Boy racers with their rice rocket. It didn't matter that you were in a Porsche, only that you had passed him. As Laz notes, these kids have more testosterone than brains.by jg wnc - Main Forum
