I had to replace one on the passenger side of my 986S. IIRC, I bought one from the salvage guys in North Carolina. Unfortunately all the leftover parts and pieces went with the 02S when I sold it.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I checked the web site and it looks like the season is from November through March. We will be there 3 nights on a Treffen tour. I'll check into your suggestions and see what we can work out!by jg wnc - Main Forum
I know they refrigerate the tracks, but not sure they could do enough to keep ice on it all summer. Just wondering since we will be in St. Moritz in September.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Just copied and pasted the description" Porsche Track Precision app Detailed driving data can be displayed, recorded and analysed on a smartphone using the Porsche Track Precision app. Lap times can be manually stopped using the operating lever in the Sport Chrono function – automated via GPS – and compared on the smartphone. The app can also be used to display the driving dynamics, produceby jg wnc - Main Forum
Says its for GT4 and GT3, but wonder if it would work on other models. It is expensive!by jg wnc - Main Forum
Congrats. You have a great looking family there!by jg wnc - Main Forum
I assumed the Porsche was a Cayenne or a Macan, but from the reflection in the building on the video, it looks like a 981 Cayman. Lots of folks packing heat these days!by jg wnc - Main Forum
and it was still in the car when I sold the car in September 2015 (and I believe it is still in the car). I can't remember exactly when I bought the battery and the mounting plate, but I believe it was sometime in 2006-2007 (receipt passed to the new owner last year). It has worked flawlessly. I am a real fan of them, and will probably put one in my 2016 GTS when the time comes. If you are woby jg wnc - Main Forum
Some jerk at a restaurant put a nice crease in the driver's door and left. I paid for the repairs out of my pocket. Work was done by an excellent shop in the ATL area that knows Porsche's well. I assume they pounded the dent out and smoothed it with body filler. I can't imagine that you need to cut out and replace the quarter panel. They probably need to replace the air intake and when theyby jg wnc - Main Forum
If it makes you feel any better, I had the same problem on my 02S at Road Atlanta at turn 3 - a hard right turn. I even got black flagged once because I was putting out so much smoke. But it was just smoke, and my read was that the oil was pooling up in the oil pan and overwhelming the AOS. I was using the stock setup - no deep pan or baffle. I modified my driving technique through the turn tby jg wnc - Main Forum
It has been a lot of years since college physics and my scuba classes, but my guess is that Boyle's law comes into play here: PV=nRT So the variables are Pressure, Volume, Temperature, and I forgot what the R is along with a constant "n" for the fluid. Pedro is probably better at this stuff, and he might be able to help, but in the meantime, Google Boyle's Law and see if it gets you anywhere.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I got hit in my old Boxster in my neighborhood. Mom ran in front of the car. I hit the brakes. Then baby ran into the right front, got knocked down, got back off and took off. Left some fur in the headlight seam and I had to have the right front fender replaced. Unfortunately, my run in didn't reduce the population at all.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I like everything about the Spyder except the manual top. A 3.8 in a GTS would be even better. I'mby jg wnc - Main Forum
Seem to be more on the road here in ATL. I think Maserati has been more aggressive in selling and advertising both nationally and locally. I have seen ads for Maserati in WSJ and the local fishwrap. The Maserati dealer is also one of the Porsche dealers here.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I am especially partial to mahogany metallic. It is not one of the colors that you see every day. The wait is tough. I ordered my Boxster GTS last May and it was delivered last November. Have your dealer send you the updates once the build is scheduled. It is kinda fun to watch the computer record get updated as the parts are ordered and the car goes through the build process.by jg wnc - Main Forum
Flipped on FS1 on Sunday morning to watch the end of the race and saw that they were showing old US Open replays with Tiger Woods. Very disappointing, plus Fox missed a great opportunity to show a stunning finish. I do not get FS2 on my local cable and also tried to find it on the Fox Sports Go app, but the race was not to be had. Damn shame!by jg wnc - Main Forum
And also the short piece on Sabine. The rest of it wasn't that compelling. I had read a review that mentioned that Chris Harris was shouting all the time - and I agree with that. He needs to tone down the enthusiasm a bit. I actually thought Matt LeBlanc did a good job. Overall, I thought it was good, not great. I will continue watching....... for now.by jg wnc - Main Forum
When I bought my 02 S in 2003, between the time we negotiated price and delivery of the car, the previous owner got 3 small rock chips in the windshield. At the time, I talked to a local dealer who put me in touch with the independent installer that they used so that I could find out what the cost would be to replace it so that I could adjust the purchase price. The installer told me at the timby jg wnc - Main Forum
I am up in Peachtree Corners - OTP. Don't know if you are interested at all in Porsche history. I will be attending this event at the new Porsche NA Headquarters: On Saturday, April 2, Porsche Cars North America will host the Ingram family and friends at One Porsche Drive to show our support and appreciation for their loving dedication to preserving and sharing the iconic Porsche heritage.by jg wnc - Main Forum

Save the Ambers Foundation, but I gotta say the car would look much better with clear side and tail lights. I used to have a seal gray 02 S and I thought it made a very positive difference to the looks of the car. With my triple brown '16 GTS I am debating about de-ambering the side markers, but so far I am leaning toward saving the ambers!by jg wnc - Main Forum
She had bought another Boxster as recently as a couple years ago, but I think she has since sold it.by jg wnc - Main Forum
I got rear ended in my 02 Boxster S several years back. I took the car to the body shop that one of the local dealers uses and they pointed out to me that even though the bumper cover looked OK, there were a number of small cracks in it. I ended up replacing the bumper cover with a new OEM unit (beware, insurance companies may try to substitute cheaper knock offs - you have the right to insistby jg wnc - Main Forum

When the brake sensor like first comes on, you probably have 1/8" of brake pad left. So it is not urgent that you change the pads right away, but you should be moving in that direction. How far you can drive depends on how often and how hard you use the brakes.by jg wnc - Main Forum
