My buddy (and just maybe be soon to be my former buddy if I can't fix it) while attempting to get the seat belt around his 6"8" frame screwed it up and it is now fully extended and won't retract. Car is '02 (tall friend is 1941). If anybody knows how I can get it back in I'd appreciate hearing about it. It is presently fully extended and when I pull on it attempting to get it to rewind, it let'by tom coughlin - Main Forum
My guess is that you'll have to replace yours sooner than later and a big question will be about what shape the top material is in. Good luck.by tom coughlin - Main Forum
My '02 with 85,000 miles continues to perform well and reliably. Recently I have noticed a bit of a whine that is engine speed dependent. The sound increases with engine revs, and while coasting slowly I shut off the engine and the sound went away. Does this sound familiar to others? If yes, is this an issue that I will want to get fixed ASAP or is it a gradual decline thing? Thanks, Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
Porsche owner/driver since 1975 seeks a 2009 Boxster S, stick shift with 50,000 or fewer miles. Should be in great condition and hopefully in New England. We can work out a fair price based on private party book value. Let me know what you've got. Tomby tom coughlin - Cars for Sale
You've never had an issue and you drive it year round. I have 356's that I've owned for many years and don't drive for 3 months a year and I've never needed any such product either. I think you're good to go (If it ain't broke.......).by tom coughlin - Main Forum
You have a slow leak. I've winter stored cars for the past 25 years plus and they always hold air.by tom coughlin - Main Forum

I want to buy a top and frame from a 2003 or 2004 to upgrade my 2002. I'm in New England (but I guess it can be shipped anywhere in the US). Condition should be good without rips or tears and color Black, Blue, or I guess pretty much anything except red should be OK. Let me know what you've got. Thanks, Tomby tom coughlin - Parts for Sale
But I do end up at the one they sometimes have in Tiverton, RI.by tom coughlin - Main Forum
Thanks, 'cause that's exactly what I needed. When I popped off the plastic "buttons" all I could see was carpet (and of course I didn't no idea how I was ever going to reach the rear one). Thanks again, Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
When I went to open the trunk from the driver's seat, the button fell inside the housing. Before I start tearing the housing apart I though I'd ask for advice and tips from somebody who has removed it before. Thanks in advance. Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
I hear them and man are they loud. When I first heard them I wondered if it's electronic with some switch so that they can jump from normal to really FN loud? Upon reading Autoweek's review I found "...pneumatically controlled exhaust bypass valves...", so I guess the sound is not a fake attention-getter, but produced by the engine! I was about to say it was the smartest move since the 356 since of course there likely wouldn't be a Porsche company had the 356 not been a hit, but I'll stick with "one of the smartest moves". I'd like to see, as time progresses, the company offer the same engine options in the Boxster (roadster and coupe) as in the rear engine model. This was given to me by a mechanic and told it would in my '02 so I had the display fixed and when it did not work in my car I fixed my old unit and now I'm selling this one. What years of Boxsters will this unit work in? From the date I guess at least '97. Thanks, Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
An earlier A/C controller would not operate when installed in my '02. It was part number 986 653 101 00. What year cars will this A/C controller work in? Thanks, Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
OK what I gather is that it's hard to tell for sure. So, does anybody know if having the same part numbers on the two A/C modules means that both will work in the 2001 car? Thanks, Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
I have an A/c controller that would not work in my 2002 because I have a CAN bus. How can I figure out if it will work in a 2001? Thanks in advance, TLCby tom coughlin - Main Forum
Boston. Providence, New Hampshire, etc? Let me know if you have had one done. Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
As teenagers hanging around in the '50's we were required by our unwritten rule to call out the make and year of cars that came into view. How did I miss that hood ornament? The even more important question is, will the guys forgive my screw-uo? We meet again next week so I'll have them all take the test and we can compare scores. Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum

When my dash was out (no speedo, tach,, gas gauge, etc) due to a blown fuse the only thing that worked was the turn signal, both on the dash and the signals themselves. In your case, the loss of turn signals maybe due to a different reason. Mine is an '02 and I put in a 97 A/C module having been told it would work. I think we both learned the same lesson (earlier A/c modules look the same but dby tom coughlin - Main Forum

The problem is not the instrument module (checked out OK by established module refurb. company) and the fuses look good. Any further advice appreciated. Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
I checked the fuses to dash and they are OK. Also the connectors for the A/C module-all OK.by tom coughlin - Main Forum
If anybody has experienced this and can help I would appreciate it. Tomby tom coughlin - Main Forum
Both connectors to the A/C module are tight and I even checked with the old module. The dash was working when I took that one out, and when I tested it again the dash is not working. My dash shows nothing (except turn signal arrows)-no speedo, no tach, etc. Has anybody experienced this and what's the fix?by tom coughlin - Main Forum
I hear behind me "I like your car". Now we all hear something like that from time to time and whereas I generally just say thanks, this time the voice was young so I turned and there walking through the parking lot with his mom was a boy maybe three. He spoke in sentences, but it sounded as though he hadn't been doing so for that long a time. I responded saying something about him liking cars wheby tom coughlin - Main Forum
