I have changed out several bulbs on my 986 to LEDs. Some with great success and others not so much. I believe the 987 has CAN BUS which is a consideration when selecting the right LED so it doesn't trigger a false bulb out reading on your dash, look for LEDs with a built-in resistor. You can save some money by doing your own R&D and take your chances or pay for Suncoast's R&D. Theirby Naples986 - Main Forum

Both LED sections (brake & fog) are bright, however since you only use the brake lights for a short time it's not a problem and in fog you want it bright so again not a problem. I was referring to my rewire, which you are not doing so this is not an issue for you. I think Porsche makes an LED set that works for the 986, if I remember correctly it's about 3x the price of the DEPO set andby Naples986 - Main Forum
I got some clear DEPO LED lights on EBay. DEPO seems to be the most common aftermarket brand, average quality and fit. However beware that if you go the plug and play route you will only get one LED section which is for the brake lights. The second set is for "fog" which is a complete waste of LEDs IMHO. I rewired mine to utilize the "fog" section for the running lights. If you rewire, it reby Naples986 - Main Forum

Changing to xenon bulbs will likely result in angry drivers when your new lights blind others. I did a retrofit which involves opening the headlight unit and installing projectors designed for xenon lights. It takes some work but it cost just a couple hundred dollars for both headlights. QuoteGuenter in Ontario Held at the Porsche Museum in October. It's in German, but I'm sure there are parts that you'll find easy to understand. That was really cool . Funny I didn't hear German only Gearhead speakby Naples986 - Main Forum
I installed screens on my 986S a few years ago after seeing them on a GT3. So far no issues with temps or debris blocking air flow. I live in SW FL so we have plenty of 90+ degree weather in the summer followed by really cold 70+ degree winters (sorry to all my Canadian friends I couldn't help myself ). BTW, there are a number of vendors selling "specially designed screens" at great cost, turby Naples986 - Main Forum

Thanks Pedro, That makes sense, but it's blowing warm just from stopping for a traffic signal or while I'm driving along. Is that normal, I don't remember it doing that before.by Naples986 - Main Forum
My A/C is doing something strange, when I take off from a stop the volume of air remains unchanged but the cold air gets warm. If I reduce the air flow it feels cold again. I thought it was low on Freon so I took it in today but they didn't find any leaks and the system is full. Any ideas? Thanks, Carlosby Naples986 - Main Forum
QuoteGuenter in Ontario I was headed to the other side of town to pick up some things for BRBS. Got "lost" and ended up somewhat on the outskirts of town. Sure is nice to see leaves on the trees, sunshine above and feel some temps in the high 60's. What a perfect day to drive a Boxster. Life is good. I sure hope those Apple Fritters make it to BRBS and don't get "lost" along the way . The carby Naples986 - Main Forum

to a set of 18" 996 wheels that I have. I tried them on before and know they are wider and will need spacers to fit, but the question is should I do it? It will fill in the fenders and give the car that low profile look at the expense of some ride comfort I was told, any other draw backs? Thanks, Carlosby Naples986 - Main Forum
