Just got back to the hotel room from the race!
What a wonderful four days. Sorry - the Lizard broke - you probably know better that n I do what happened. It was off track for awhile and then came back with a good deal of its real r body work missing. After that, lap times were abysmal. OTOH, it was a sweep for Porsche! Both the prototype and GT races were great with the winning margins measured in seconds after 24 hours. I was really rooting for a caution near the end so the Brumos 59 could get another shot.

Almost as much fun as the race, they had a short vintage race on Saturday morning with the winners of previous Daytona races. It was a thrill to see the old 907, 917, 962 etc race alongside the Ford GT and even a Dodge Viper. Can't say I am much of a fan of the looks of the Rileys though. Kept asking myself what the 917 would do if they really would let it out on the Daytona tri-oval.

I'll post a few pics when I get back home in a couple of days.
