Try the rear fog: it often worked for me. The 981's is centered* and looks more like a third brake light, which many people are conditioned to perceiving it as such. (Ok, that's some weird grammar.) * Other than how it can fool someone into backing off, having it in the central backup light module makes it less "effective" as a rear fog because, well, it can be confusing and cause someone innocently following to brake unnecessarily in a poor visibility situation.
