Expensive puddle too.... (long)
... I've been in Orlando for the past 3 days attending the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Tradeshow.
When I arrived on Wednesday the car developed a weird noise which I thought could be the water pump.
Since I had some tools with me I decided to open the firewall to see if I could pinpoint the noise.
But, by the time I got the firewall access panel off the noise had quieted down.
I checked for signs of coolant leakage but found everything dry.
I assembled everything, went to the last day of the show and at 3:00 PM decided to go home.
About 20 minutes into the trip I saw the coolant light start to blink and l knew the pump had finally failed.
I called my Insurance company and was told that mr my Roadside Assidstance paid for the first 60 miles.
I was about 260 miles from home, so at $5.50/mile ... You do the math.
Then I remembered that my buddy Mike from TuneRS wowould b returning back from the show later in the day.
He has a Mercedes Benz cargo van and had picked up some euipment a the show.
So I called him and he agreed to first swing by a U-Haul rental place and pick up a car trailer.
Then he picked me and my car up and we are now driving back to SoFla.
As you can clearly see from the length of this post, I have nothing else to do.
So the puddle I left by th the side of the Turnpike, although not as expensive as it first appeared it'll still set me back some.
It could have been worse.
I know Carlos knows the feeling ;)
Happy Boxstering
