Message: for me, it was the brake pedal switch

for me, it was the brake pedal switch
I replaced it, twice now. I believe that the switch malfunctions, and the car can tell, thus the computer doesn't know whether or not the pedal is depressed. That makes computerized braking features unable to work. So they shut down, hence the warning lights. It really isn't a very expensive part (10 bucks or so?). ). If you like DIY things, and if you are good at yoga, I recommend trying that before anything else.

I believe that this was my part, for a 2003 boxster:

Can't remember if I bought it from there. Someone suggested that the harsh cold of Iowa winters played some role in this, my home for two years.
