Boxstoberfest 2016 (no replies)

Greetings all previous Boxstoberfest Attendees.

Boxstoberfest 2016 is coming up soon - September 9-11 in Fredericksburg.

Attendance is limited to 90 cars in the main drive group but we have plenty capacity in the scenic and rally groups (unless we get a 5th drive leader, then we can add 20 more attendees). The main drive group sells out fast...... Registration for Boxstoberfest 2016 will open on July 1, 2015 at 6:00 am, and will be through ClubRegistration.net. There is already lots of interest, so this is going to be another great year for the event. Last year we had record attendance with 235 attendees.

Your safety and enjoyment of the event are of prime importance to the organizers. Speaking of safety, the following needs to be completely understood by all participants - Boxstoberfest is not a race, nor a venue to drive as fast as you want and endanger other participants, your passengers, nor the public. We enjoy a spirited drive on public roads, and have a very good time doing so. If your intent is for an all out ride pressing the envelope of your vehicle, this is not the place. There are multiple events within all the regions to do this in a safe and controller manner. Rule 1 is NO PASSING. Break this rule, and you will forever be banned. Regardless, all who have attended in the past can attest that the twisties can still be challenging and VERY exciting.

As a summary, here are some of the details of the event.

1. As with last year we have 3 events for Friday early attendees - (1) A chance to run the regular driving route early. Arrive at the Hangar Hotel prior to 1:00 pm Friday Sept 9, check in and sign the waivers, and pick up the official drive map. Then, you are free to drive the entire course - which opens up your Saturday to run it again, or participate in one of the other drives. (2) We have the Gimmick Rally early run, which then allows you to run the scenic or main course on Saturday. The rally start time will be any time after 8:00 am, up till 12:00. You can start as soon as you show up and pick up the instructions. Obviously, you will need to be in Fredericksburg early Friday morning. For these 2 events just find me at the Hotel. (3) the wine tour, being such a hit last year, is on the schedule again. The tour bus(s) leave the Hangar Hotel at 1:00, and will return around 6:00. If there is any specific winery you would like to visit, please indicate such when you register.

2. Once again - Boxstoberfest central is the Hangar Hotel. In fact, we have the entire Hangar Hotel blocked for the whol Greetings all previous Boxstoberfest Attendees.

In fact, we have the entire Hangar Hotel blocked for the whole weekend - all rooms, and conference facilities. For those who have attended previous Boxstoberfest events, this is the hotel at the Gillespie County Airport where we do the Saturday morning line-up and drive staging. The rooms at the Hangar Hotel are absolutely fabulous, and we have a great room rate. We also have special rates at the Fredericksburg Inn, as we have had in the past. *Note* Even though Boxstoberfest registration is just now opening, a lot of attendees last year booked their rooms as they checked out last year. As such, all the rooms are full and there is a wait list. There are plenty of rooms at the Fredericksburg Inn as well as other local hotels (there is a brand new Holiday Inn Express, with what I hear has a fantastic pool, the Hampton Inn, and lots of B&B's).

3. Our Saturday evening event will be at the Pacific Showroom, on the Hangar Hotel property. The Showroom is a fabulous venue, and we have a great dinner planned in this wonderful facility. The Bill Smallwood band will be playing for us again this year, and it looks to be a blast (thanks again Stallion Capital) . The doors open at 7:00 for cocktails, and the serving line opens at 7:30.

4. All registration and check-in will be done at the Hangar Hotel, as was done last year.

5. Again this year, there is a $35 per person registration fee in which each registrant will automatically receive a Boxstoberfest T-Shirt. We will have a limited quantity of additional shirts for purchase at the event, however there will be no Polo shirts offered. Thanks again to Xpel Protective Films for once again sponsoring the t-shirts.

6. There were 3 distinct driving events offered on Saturday - the long drive which is a follow the leader type event, the scenic drive which is a mapped event driven at your own pace and a clue based gimmick rally where you follow cryptic clues to end the tours closest to the actual mileage.

7. When registering, you have the option to "Opt In" to receive text messages. If you turn this option on, you will receive periodic messages prior to the event. During the event, your drive leaders and organizers have the ability to send up to date information immediately (but please let your co-drive read/reply to these - remember, Safety First).

All the details, and the link to the registration site are at www.boxstoberfest.com. You must register for the event to attend (you can’t just show up), and pay the registration fee and event options fees (dinner, lunch, additional shirts). Hotel registrations are done by booking directly with the hotels - the event registration site does not book your hotel room.

Lastly, our premier sponsor, Stallion Capital Management will be holding a private dinner for the fist 22 confirmed people. Additional details are available on the registration page.

If you have any questions, have door prizes or swag to offer, want to volunteer for anything - we need drive leaders, parking coordinators, and drive launch helpers, please feel free to send an email to shassere@gmail.com

For more information visit: www.Boxstoberfest.com

Click HERE to remove your email address.

We are adding 2 new event for Friday early attendees - (1) A chance to run the regular driving route early. Arrive at the Hangar Hotel prior to 1:00 pm Friday Sept 5, check in and sign the waivers, and pick up the official drive map. Then, you are free to drive the entire course - which opens up your Saturday to run it again, or participate in one of the other drives. (2) A wine tour. We will visit 2 wineries, with a lunch stop in the middle.

2. We have also added a "Sunrise Drive" set to depart at 7:00 am Saturday morning. Details are still being worked out, but the route will most likely be an abbreviated version of the regular course, without a defined stop in the middle.

3. Once again - Boxstoberfest central is the Hangar Hotel. In fact, we have the entire Hangar Hotel blocked for the whole weekend - all rooms, and conference facilities. All registration and check-in will be done at the Hangar Hotel, as was done last year.

6. This year, there is a $30 per person registration fee. Why the increase you ask???? Well, this year we decided that each registrant will automatically receive a Boxstoberfest T-Shirt, as well as a surprise gift. We will have a limited quantity of additional shirts for purchase at the event, however there will be no Polo shirts offered.

7. In the past, there were 3 distinct driving events offered on Saturday - the long drive which is a follow the leader type event, the scenic drive which is a mapped event driven at your own pace, and the gimmick rally. We are dropping the gimmick rally, as interest has gone down in recent years. We are also adding a lead driver to the scenic route.

8.
Boxstoberfest 2013. Registration now open ... (4 replies)

Just a quick note.....

We are pleased to announce that registration for Boxstoberfest 2013 opens July 1. Boxstoberfest 2013 will be held Sept 6 - 8, 2013, in Fredericksburg Texas.

Last year, over 200 fellow Porsche enthusiasts were in attendance, and enjoyed some of the best roads to enjoy your Porsches in the US. Attendees also enjoyed being with other Porsche owners - both old friends and many new. As in the past, all registrations are handled through www.clubregistration.net. Additional details for the event are on the official website - www.boxstoberfest.com, or on Facebook. Our routes are being finalized (to make sure there aren't any last minute construction areas to slow us down), and the rally and scenic routes are being given a few twists to make them a little more challenging - and more fun. On Friday, you are welcome to pick up either the regular or scenic drive maps if you would like to pre-drive them (many people who do the regular route on Saturday, pick up the Scenic route map and do it Friday, or Sunday).

Event central will once again be the Hangar Hotel. Registration check-in on Friday night, Saturday morning drive line-up, and Saturday after drive social and dinner will all be at the Hangar Hotel. Boxstoberfest has the entire hotel booked for the weekend, all 54 rooms - and as it's become a trend from past events, is already 100% booked and has a waitlist (it actually booked 100% the day the event closed last year). We do have a block of rooms at the Fredericksburg Inn, and the Inn on Barons Creek. There are numerous Bed and Breakfasts in town, too.

All the accommodation details, as well as full event details are on the website.

We look forward to seeing you at Boxstoberfest 2013. If you have any questions, just drop me an email and get you an answer. As we get closer to the actual dates, registered attendees will get very detailed messages regarding specific event times, what to/to not bring, event rules, and PCA required notifications.

(If you wish to help the organization or execution of Boxstoberfest, just let us know. We can always use drive leaders (there is a significant advantage to being out in front) - we need at least 4 volunteers for this. We can also use help with Saturday morning parking, and as always - we're looking for event sponsors to provide door prizes, discount coupons, tech session leaders, or???)
