Sad to let it go...

Purchased new in February 2002, custom ordered from the factory through Sonnen Porsche. This car still drives like the day I drove it out of the showroom floor. This car has been well maintained, garaged and regular oil changes every 7,500 miles throughout its life. All service records are available. New 2006 Porsche crated engine replaced under warranty in 2006 when IMS failed on original engine at around 36K miles. Pedro's IMS lubrication system was installed in 2017.

I am selling my 2001 Porsche Boxster S with 110,000 miles. Midnight blue color with grey leather interior, black canvas soft top in great condition! Non-Smoker and has never been driven in the snow, always garaged. Well-equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and an optional B&M short shifter, cruise control, matching midnight blue console, painted roll bar & carbon fiber detailing including the gearshift, speaker grills, emergency brake, etc. Car has instrument cluster silver trim rings and heated seats, window tinting, and includes a Porsche car cover. Hate to say it, but it's time. First Boxster 1999, traded in for RS60 which had everything I wanted (glass rear with up/down under 30, more power, heated seats, better headlights, plenty of other stuff that comes standard if you know these models). Had great fun with both Boxster, but after 20 years and turning 70, a bit of the thrill is gone.
Owner, one driver, 49K, all records and all work done by Taylor Chapman (Virigina, I live in Maryland, he is worth the trip).
It's the version with the dark grey interior not red.
Not a daily driver - that's my other "boxer" engine Outback. Never driven in snow or with salt on the roads, but caught in rain about 5 times. Kept under a carport, it's in very good condition.
I had an auxin added just after getting it, so while I can listen to music with it, it's not like CarPlay or anything like that.
The rear bearings were replaced 2 years ago (both sides).
I had the 60k service at 30k because it was 5 years old - plugs, coils, serpentine belt, etc.
Also replaced the water pump last year. It did not go bad, I did it as preventive service as 95% of my driving is for semi-long country rides.

Long story short, the engine has intermix due to a cracked cylinder head. Overall, this is a nice car. Tight suspension, 6 speed manual trans. Ben's short shifter. Black over Savannah Beige leather. Android head unit. Top in good shape, rear window is cloudy and should be replaced. Heated power electric seats. Bose system. Four stalk column with trip computer. Approx. 106K miles. Clear, clean Texas title in hand. Car is 25 miles NE of Houston. Price is $3200. Add another 3.2L engine or an LS engine and off you go. I bought another car to replace this one. Email or PM me if interested.

replacement 3.2L "S" engines are always readily available for $2000 - $3500 depending on the mileage. This could be a great way to get into a nice Boxster S very inexpensively, or on a pay as you go basis. Pick up the car for now, and grab an engine when more cash is available to you.

2001 Porsche Boxster with 100k miles in good condition, zanzibar red exterior with a black interior, automatic with tiptronic. I have owned and driven it daily since 2013 and it has been very reliable. It has a custom exhaust, blacked wheels and red calipers but the rest of the car is factory stock. All maintenance has been done with oil changes every 3000-4000 miles, new spark plugs and tubes at 85k and recent serpentine belt. It runs great and the attached photo’s shows the minor imperfections it has. The only reason I’m selling it is to purchase a larger car for commuting. ... I'll post on this forum as well as on the Main Forum.
The owner of VIN: WP0CB29822U660175 (2002 Boxster S - Black/Black/Black) is trying to pass it off as a great car. It is not!
The car had the DOF installed and was serviced. He then purchased it and drove it several weeks.,
According to him, he saw the low coolant light blink and decided to drive it another 30 miles to his home instead of having it towed.
The temperature climbed to the point where he had to stop several times.
Obviously, did damage. Cracked one of the heads which allowed for intermixed oil/coolant.
Then tried to sell it to an unsuspecting customer on eBay (as a perfect car) who ended up contacting us to see if we could PPI it.
He now listed it on Craigslist, again as a perfect car: [miami.craigslist.org]
Buyer beware.

2001 PORSCHE BOXSTER 2.7L TIPTRONIC

BLACK EXTERIOR WITH SAVANNA BEIGE INTERIOR

This Boxster is in great overall condition and has been babied by each of its previous owners. The vehicle currently has original 137,900 miles but the condition shows it has not been abused or mistreated. It comes equipped with standard options for a Boxster but includes factory HID headlamps.
The convertible top canvas was also professionally replaced in August 2015 with a new canvas and plastic window. All services have been recently performed in August that include items such as oil and filter, air filter, cabin air filter, brake fluid flush, transmission fluid service, drive belt and A/C service.
This Boxster also has a set of brand new Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires installed! 205/55/16 front, 225/50/16 rear with front and rear FVD german wheel spacers to give the car a more flush look. Questions regarding the infamous IMS bearing on this vehicle? No worries! It has been addressed recently as well with a new IMS bearing and Direct Oil Feed (DOF) kit from TuneRS Motorsports. Rear main seal and Air Oil Separator was also replaced at the same time. This is a $3,000 option (parts and labor) that has been done so you don’t have to worry!

CarFax report: On the report it shows “minor accident” that occurred a few months ago with owner 3. The previous owner gave us a report on the incident – a drunk pedestrian stepped out into the road into oncoming traffic and unfortunately hit the left side quarter panel and left a dent. A police report was filed and it went on the CarFax report. The dent was professionally removed and the scratches were touched up but the vehicle has no physical damage anywhere.

The front hood and bumper were also refinished to remove all rock chips and road debris after 137k miles of driving.

I have clean and clear Florida title on hand. Vehicle is ready to have a new owner!
