We hope everyone is having a good winter . . . . Hopefully, during all these crazy ice and snow storms, your thoughts are turning to the Blue Ridge Mountains in June!
Our Blue Ridge Boxster Summit 2011 plans are coming together. As you know, we're moving to Little Switzerland, NC this year. Gary Jensen, owner of Switzerland Inn, has been great to work with, and this new venue will offer quite a different experience. Imagine stepping out of the Inn for an early morning wake-up run down and up the 190-curve Diamondback Loop, or enjoying the new roads to be discovered in this neck of the woods, or simply relaxing on the porch overlooking the expansive Blue Ridge mountain valley.
If you're planning on attending, but haven't pre-registered yet, please go to www.brbs.org now and pre-register by clicking on "Sign the Roster." We'll be sending 2011-specific information soon to just the rostered folks, so make sure you're pre-registered to get the latest updates.
Switzerland Inn is fully booked, but has a waiting list. We'll be sending out other lodging options shortly, If your plans have changed and you can't attend, please notify us and cancel your reservation so someone else can slot in. And if you haven't canceled any reservation you may have made after last year's event at the Meadowbrook Inn in Blowing Rock, be sure to cancel it now.
We'll be posting the new menus soon; but for now, know that the Saturday evening banquet will be unlike anything you've experienced yet! We're also working on a poolside/terrace bar get-together for the early-birds arriving Wednesday evening. Plus, there will again be an early drive leaving Little Switzerland around 9:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The official opening event will still be the Thursday evening banquet. Talk with your friends now to determine when you want to arrive: Wednesday evening for the early-birds, Thursday morning to squeeze in the early run, or Thursday evening for the official kick-off event.
We're still finalizing some event details,and the event registration cost and tentative schedule should be posted soon. If you have any questions now, please contact us at planners@brbs.org.
