Just got pulled over doing 53 in what turns out to be a 30 (it's 40/45 before and after a curve) in NJ - clearly the officer knew exactly where to camp out.
$200 ticket. In NJ I can get it knocked down (once) for unsafe operation and no points. Of course that option is more expensive than simply paying the $200. So basically, NJ recognizes speeding tickets as a revenue generation device and is willing to to allow one to pay more in order to go out and do it again. Obviously I'm going to pay more ...
