993 vs Boxster maintenance cost

Now I know the difference between the two. The Boxster has been easy to work on especially with all of the help on the board. Just did the 60k tuneup on the 1995 993 and with parts (brakes, plugs, rotors, distributers fluid changes, filters) etc) came to alittle over 2K including labor and parts. I know its the big service but think my independent dealer was quite reasonable on labor cost (parts were about 1.3K) Now onto doing the boxster tune up- plugs, filters, flush the radiators and oil change parts not so bad, labor is free. Too bad plugs on the 993 were not as accessible as those on the boxsterconfused smiley

on my '01S for a 90k, the biggest major service you can have. Independent quoted less than half your 993's cost. Obviously less if I do it myself but I believe in paying for experience/expertise that I don't have.

You need to be Houdini just to get at the oil filter and plugs. That alone is timely and costly.
