Expect the best, and accept no substitute.
According to a report in today's New Zealand Herald, the new series will be an endurance racing world championship. No specifics on types of cars, but some speculation is that it might be heavy on hybrids, which Porsche will soon have two models. Final word from FIA won't be until their December meetings. Expect races in Europe, US and Asia, all stong Porsche markets.

Regarding F1, Porsche's CEO is quoted as saying that F1 is not of interest to Porsche due to the cost and that it does not "offer enough in exchange" for the spectators, whatever the heck that means.

Sorry, but don't have a link to the small article in the Sept. 7 paper.
Porsche has already committed to build a top class entry for the new FIA Endurance Championship and LeMans which will run to the same rules. The rules are not completely done yet, but the thinking is that Porsche will compete with a gas engine against Audi and Peugot with diesels. No problems with the intra-corporate competition with Audi. This was announced a couple months ago.
Minor correction....
