981 - If no nav, what goes in the hole on the console?

I have looked at a lot of pics and most have the nav screen. The few I have seen without it just appear to have a dark space - could be a screen for radio but it doesn't look anything like the 987 non-nav console. Anyone seen a better picture or seen the real thing (at an auto show)?

The CDR has a 7" touchscreen, too, along with some mechanical controls below it.

You probably know that the rightmost circular instrument in the cluster is apparently user settable for what it will indicate.

correct. My 997 does not have a nav system, but my screen works the radio/disc/ipod/bluetooth functions.
