of your's which can accept a one page PDF file of the factory Boxster TIP fluid change instructions and I'll send this to you. It is not a DIY for the rank rookie car mechanic but does contain some pretty important info.

Sincerely,

MarcW.
it looks like Marc has a PDF for you. However...

ZF tips are ZF tips. I believe its a 5HP19A, same a many Audis.

If you go to audiworld.com, and look in the D2 forum (or the tech articles), you will find a nice write up by a guy for an A8.
Different tranny, same process.

A few tips (no pun intended)

1. dont flush. Just drain, clean, replace filter, re-add whatever fluid you took out
2. use only OEM fluid - porsche, Audi or Esso (yes, Esso)
3. you must get it up to temp (about 120F) to get the right fill level
4. you must run it through the gears, on a lift or stands, to get fluid into the nooks and crannys
5. the fill method is "pump up and over the lip until it spills back"

njoy. I didnt

Thanks Grant

The information Marc sent covered most of it. It says though that there is no drain plug for the dif gear oil change and a cover must be removed, see page 39-A7 which I can't find. How did you change yours?

Carlos

Mine is on my Audi, not a porsche, and is slightly different. In mine there is a plug that opens on the bottom of the pan. I also dont do it myself mcuh, its so much easier with a lift that ilet my local tranny place do it - they happen to be excellent and reasonable. The pan has a molded (stamped) column that goes up inside - like a water lock in a boat. You pump the fluid up and over the lip until it spills back.

You drain by remioving the pan.

it to you. Not sure it has enough info since I've never bothered to learn how to do this myself and can't offer an opinion based on any real experience. I let the techs at the dealer change the tranny/diff fluids in my cars.

Sincerely,

MarcW.
