Porsche prices.....
Gary in SoFL - Wednesday, 2 January, 2013, at 12:24:33 pm
I'm told that Porsche increased their MSRPs but about 2.5% today. Must be an effort to remain the most profitable car company on the face of the earth. eye rolling smiley

A hundred grand for a new Boxster is very close.....

IIRC, Porsche will do a maximum lease on a Boxster to a limit of about $78K.

cool smiley You're safe G-man, since your order is already in.

I'm told the PCNA computers are down today, so maybe the new prices aren't there yet. We'll find out soon.

Looks like it's only the 991 prices that went up 2.6%....for now.

Probably to minimize cannibalization from overpriced 981's and what's sure to be nose bleed prices for the new Cayman. I would guess currency rate protection between the USD and the Euro is also a factor.

G-man is safe, for the time being smiling bouncing smiley

How does raising the price of hte higher priced car minimize cannibalization? Seems to me, that would have the opposite effect. confused smiley

Another perspective

is that the base price of a Boxster is still less than it was when it was introduced if you adjust for inflation.
I totally agree

A large amount of the increase in Boxster's prices is due to many options that weren't even available when it was first introduced.

Even with the starting price of a "basic" Boxster, you're getting a lot of standard equipement which in the early models either wasn't even available, or was an extra cost option.

It's still a good deal. Just if you want all the extras, you'll just have to be prepared to pay for them.
