Who knows how the airbag/seatbelt latch sensor works?

I suspect that it must look for:

1. some known resistance when the latch is open, and
2. another known resistance (zero maybe?) when it is closed

I'd like to trouble shoot - is my problem (code 21, passenger latch) the latch, the seat wire, the connector, or the harness wire.

Then i can either:

1. get a new part or
2. trick the system

But i need facts! Anyone have facts?

my copy of 6924 has no pictures, just a 1 page description of a change in part number that occurred in '99

My '01 was in the shop 4 times total before receiving a new grounding and both seat belt buckles replacements.

Since I didn't do it, all I can say is what I remember being told 5 years ago when I took it back for its 4th and final fix.

Maybe he'll see this.

not 04s. I think I've likely fixed it with contact cleaner and cramolin. I need a durametric (on order, building virtual machine on my mac).
