Bentley suggests first disconnecting the driveshaft from the diff, and later removing the axle nut and separating the hub carrier from the axle.

Why both? Either the axle can move with the carrier, or the axle can remain connected to the diff, with the hub carrier moving away.

What am i missing?

... just remove the axle nut and leave the half-axle attached to the tranny.
Leaving the half-axle attached limits its movement, so I understand why they recommend removing it altogether.

Racecar spelled backwards is Racecar

"Racing is life. Anything before or after is just waiting" ... Steve McQueen as Michael Delaney in "LeMans"

"If you wait, all that happens is that you get older"... Mario Andretti

"Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose" ... Ayrton Senna
Thanks again!

I'm in the process of doing my homework for a the future tear-apart when i re do much of the suspension, making a "stretable track car" as oppsed to the "trackable street car" i now drive.

for the record, i recently saw some unimpressive dyno charts on PSS9s. Do those who use them recommend them highly or are they simply the default. OTOH i'm really lovin' my row M030s.

Option 3: KW V1s
