I've seen white ones as well. It is the white ones that are used for the road side speed cameras that I've spotted a few times on my drives across northern AZ.

Around where I work Ford pickups (with the decal on the side and light bars on the roof) are used for it seems mostly for commercial vehicle road side inspections.
One of the local municipalities here has a white pu. I have also seen unfortunate people stopped by unmarked SUV's on 95 to and from BRBS.

We have SUVs sporting CHP logos here. The usually target big rigs, checking tires, brakes and load limits etc. As long as they carry a ticket book, I'm sure they're happy to issue one if they see a passenger vehicle misbehaving.
I spotted another type of police (CHP) vehicle the other day. I've seen them before just not often. It is kind of like a pick up truck but without the usual bed and instead has side compartments sort of like a plumper or electrician's service truck.
