New Top for '03 Boxster

So a few weeks ago, I had the misfortune of having a streetcar power line land on my roof. Thankfully, it was closed, as it hit the car where my head was. I had the outer top replaced with a factory top, and I have to say, it's f!@#ing expensive. Fortunately, insurance paid the lion's share, but in total, the bill was about $5.5k before taxes, which is a staggering sum of money.

That much being said, it's interesting how the car feels much tighter, quieter, and fewer squeaks. I suspect that the fabric top is so taut that it's keeping everything seriously in place, and should for a few years.

Hmmm.....after having had the engine rebuilt (IMS failure), and a new top, new shoes at the rear, recently new brakes -- it's getting easier to resist the call of the 981s.

I can relate. Just replaced my canvas (with glass) last month! Local shop (Simply German) and they did a great job. Troy did the replacement and he did a great job.
