Well, now we know how long the transmission mounts last...

204,000 miles and 3 track events :-)

Some of you may recall that I have been complaining about drive-train movement despite having a new (OEM) motor mount.

Well, it was getting worse. The other night i had the car on a lift for another DE pre-tech. I looked at the motor mount and foudn what i expected - a brand new perfect motor mount. Not the culprit.

But what do you know, as i looked around and poked, i foudn the drivers' side tanny mount leaking hydraulic fluid. Dead or dying. Today i had both replaced with like-new take-offs at a speed shop ( the same one) so that i could go to VIR in less than 2 weeks. Problem solved.

I've never really heard of them failing. but then again, few cars have this many miles, either. It seems they were fine, until they started feeling the strain of track driving, and then went bye-bye in a hurry.

I'd have liked to try the Wevos, but i'm leaving for work this weekend and get back Wed night, just in time to get up and drive to lovely Alton, VA thursday morning.
