Porsche boxster 986 ECU and immobilizer problem
knight - Tuesday, 26 November, 2013, at 2:58:48 am
I have a Porsche 986, with 2.5L automatic gear. When I replace the Oxygen Sensor with other brand, the engine can not start. After the repair shop test, they told me it is DME damaged. Then I bought a DME from a used car, but it also not work, then the expert told me there must be a matched DME and CLU and key together then it can work.
I searched in Ebay and see there is a ECU, CLU, Key sets from the same model of my car, the part number for ECU are same but the CLU is different.
My CLU is M535 996.618.260.07 and his CLU is M534.
Is there any difference from M535 and M535 immobilizer box? Can I use the M534 in my car?
Thank you.
Simply replacing an O2 sensor (with ANY brand) does not damage a DME.

Who did the work?

What was the situation before replacement?

Immediately after?

Did anything get wet?

I'd back up before i went down the DME path.

The situation before changing the O2 sensor is the engine is working fine, but there is alarm code with O2 sensor.
I buy a universal O2 sensor and put the same color wire with the plug and put it on the car, then the engine can not start immediately.
I take out the O2 sensor, also engine not start, but crank.
Nothing is wet.
Then I get out the ECU to the repair shop and it seems they replaced the chip 24c04, after that the engine can not crank.
Is the immobilizer information stored in the ECU chip 24c04?
Thank you.
