Hi Everyone, i'm dealing with an issue that's driving me nuts. My car had no heat all of a sudden last week. No matter what temperature I put the car at, there was zero heat coming through the vents...not even lukewarm air. I pulled my radio out and unplugged my ciggarette adaptor and decided i'll deal with it another day and plugged everything back in. Then, I had HEAT AGAIN! Great! however, then I had no AC and the heat would stay on, no matter what temperature I used. Today, back to heat and only heat.

What could be causing this? It seems like there's some kind of switch or door that's malfunctioning. Just to be clear, it's not blending different temperatures. It's either Hot Heat or Cool AC. One or the other. I'm looking for a starting point to tackle this issue and get it done. any ideas?

Thanks
It is blending temps.
The way that the HVAC system works is that the heater core (which circulates hot coolant through its radiator) remains closed when the temp setting is set lower than the outside temp.
Apparently your heater's valve is opening intermittently (even when the temp is set below the outside temp) but the amount of heat provided by the hot engine coolant completely overwhelms the A/C hence the hot air.
You may have a loose connector or wire in your A/C control panel since it started working when you were connecting and disconnecting wires next to it.
Happy Boxstering,
Pedro

THanks Pedro.....What exactly is the A/C control panel? Is that the actual module with screen where the fan settings and AC settings is displayed?
