When it was released, I saw it with my dad. Appropriate to the occasion, we took my 66 912.
I think that race was when the running (literally) start was changed to an in-car standing start to accommodate the film production.
I get a thrill even with the beginning when McQueen's driving through town: I've been on those very streets, and in St.-Julien Cathedral.
